Pretty poor stuff. Difficult to believe we actually deserve a play off space. Nervous, passes going astray, Cole ineffective and a defence on the brink of conceding at every set piece. Northampton not really bothered, but we are still wading through treacle. Sticking with my downbeat pre match forecast of 1 - 1. We really need a fresh start.

 

He thought about pulling their bloke back when he went through and he was already in a yellow

 

Poor even though we're winning and other scores are with us at present

 

You wouldn't know Collins isn't in charge from that first half.

That's not intended as a dig at Collins, Disco or the team - just an observation.

 

Seen Cole get stick so far in this thread but Mcatee has been just as poor as him also.

 

Pretty decent half so far from my perspective, despite the Williams wonder tackle they haven’t really threatened, the defence look okay so far.

We are clearly pressing more which is good to see & turning over possession well, trying to get the ball forward quickly hence the stray passes.

Cole having a poor game, McCatee playing well, impressed with O’Keefe as well.

We need that second goal to settle the nerves though.

 

Collins was only a part of the problem

 

Thank goodness Northanpton look like they're going through the motions, blasting it through to Roberts at every opportunity. The Reds have put the effort in, no doubt about that but they look so disjointed. A slender lead from a great finish by Kane but apart from that it doesn't look like they'll trouble the keeper that much. O'Keeffe looks rattled by the occasion, mistake after mistake, ending in a frustrated yellow card. Cotter on for him I think. So thank you Herbie, because without your goal I'd be quite depressed right about now.

 

Imho....poor overall. I've seen no significant change in our play, despite the promises.
Cole looks like he's playing on heels and several others need some umph in their play. We still look like we will concede any moment ....theres just too many errors all over.
Connell has done well and McAtee but this looks like a nervy 45 coming up.

 

If you asked a neutral to guess where the teams are in the league you would say bottom half, amazing to think we are in this position to be honest

 

Surprised people saying there’s no discernible change in our play. Very much more direct in my opinion. Balls played over the top and into the channels from both defence and midfield.

 

Much less passing it around in our own half.
