You was impressed by the football.in those games? Those games were some of the worst I've seen since schopp. Didn't say today was great and not confident in the play offs at all but there wasn't much attacking intent in those games. Blackpool let us play abit at 3 down so they will be some shots. We always seem to attack abit when down, probably what cost Collins.
Stats can be twisted to back any argument. I would drop Cole for the play offs although when Cosgrove comes on he's not much better. 6ft 4 and 5ft 2 when balls in air.
Yes, not bothered is unfare. Shouldn't have been playing though because clearly he was towing that second half. Again, it shows how bad our options are when they can't displace a clearly un-fit Connel.
I didn't say that at all did I?....you were the one who said today was an improvement... when clearly the stats show that by recording the equal second lowest total of the whole season, and the lowest since February (at least that was against a good side in Derby County) it wasn't an improvement.
So we've gone backwards since sacking Collins? Well look on the positive we had conceded 11 goals in 4 games before today we almost kept a clean sheet.
You're making things up again...I didn't say we've gone backwards since Collins at all...you said today was an improvement...and it clearly wasn't.
Well actually it was 11 in 4 games We conceded 2 v charlton, 2 v stevenage 4v pompey and 3v blackpool My mistake. Collins had fallen out with a few players too was the rumours doing the rounds today down oakwell.
Same old story today' not enough creativity to break a poor side down' how many times have we seen it this season?
I think today kind of typified the whole season.....lack luster, slow, ponderous football that is very easy to play against and very easy not to like. I really thought after all the midweek soundbites our application and energy would be on show....enough to enthuse about the near future. How wrong was i? even a 1..0 win had it been that....would not have me jumping up and down. We have found our status quo playing this way all season and it is very hard to break the mold. Northampton's body language told me, we couldn't be playing a better team but we made a hard, hard job of it. The scoreline was probably fair because we just didn't take this game to them.
It looked to me like many of the players were falling out with each other today. No leadership what-so-ever.
Both player far too anonymous and go missing in games too often, I suppose that's where you expect others to step up to the plate and contribute
Agreed, done nothing. It will take a brave man to leave him out in the play offs. I don't think Disco has the minerals to be honest. Pussy footed around today when the team was struggling. Not cut out for the main job unfortunately.
That's a bit harsh on him, when we eventually start playing as a team and everyone knows their jobs he'll be brilliant for us again.
I agree there's not much leadership for me connell should be captain he seems to be the natural leader. The main problem is not much togetherness. The best barnsley sides I've seen always seem like they had great team spirit, Bassett side, I remember Bassett saying the group went out and did something together once a week socially. Heckys side seemed to get on well same with stendels in 2018 and even last season. This season there on each others backs like little girls alot of the time. Another reason I don't give us much hope in the play offs.
Cole gets alot of stick but Cosgrove came on and looked even worse. The going to the corner flag was baffling.
Williams and kane were good today. Connell not so much but least he's back. And Roberts looked well out of position for their goal but I haven't watched it back.
