I just don't understand how in nearly 30 seasons of following the Reds, I can feel this underwhelmed and unexcited about us finishing the season in the playoffs. I honestly have zero faith in us at the moment and am just not looking forward to the Bolton games. I hope I'm wrong and we somehow manage another trip to Wembley following on from a boost in performance but I just don't see where it's coming from.
The players looked every bit as underwhelmed as the fans when the whistle went. Just trudged off the field. Can’t blame the fans one bit for how they feel about our chances in the play-offs. I’m in the same boat.
To say we've limped over the finish line is an understatement. We've effectively dragged ourselves on our bellies.
100% how I feel, the season ended with a whimper, at the start of the day I thought I’d be buzzing that we’d made it but no… our inability to keep a clean sheet means before we kick a ball we have to overcome a 2-0 deficit. I felt Bolton sussed us out in that 2nd half at home and totally expect them to overcome us over two legs . Wish I could be glass half full on this one buts it’s half empty with an extra sip drank out of it

It’s because no so long ago, we’d deservedly got ourselves into a position where we looked a good bet for the autos. and has already been said many times since that Bolton game, we’ve nosedived. We’ve limped into the play-offs and are out of sorts. I fully understand people not having much hope in us getting through the play-offs, but as fans, we have to rally and give the players our backing. If it doesn’t happen, then so be it. Get behind ‘em
Is it not a possibility that the players were probably gutted and couldn't celebrate anything until they knew what other results were ? Fans need to stop the negativity and enjoy the playoffs because what's done is done and anything can happen now if we get behind them.
Come match day I’ll be 100% behind them. I just think we’re massive underdogs, and probably have to score 3 goals in each game to get through.
I wasn't doubting you personally mate, more making a point that we're in the playoffs and we need to enjoy it because anything can happen. No team goes into the playoffs with a guarantee of winning them.
Bolton usually like to play out from the back but that helped us massively in the 1st half against them at Oakwell. We pressed them high and caught them in possession frequently. However, in the 2nd half, we couldn't cope when they switched it up and went direct. I expect them go direct from the off in both play off games. We need to be ready and learn how to defend set pieces!
I'm not sure about sussed us out...they fetched on Maghoma, Bodvarsson and Jerome....knocking on a bit but massively experienced international players. We had a choice of Russell Cosgrove Grant Cotter O'Keeffe and McCart.
Completely agree. Away for the play offs and, oddly not that sad. Will definitely pick up the match via ifollow but, sadly, not really arsed.
