The problem is the board haven't got a clue about football, not one. At the last fans meeting someone asked a question about Jordan Williams being played out of position, the question was dodged by Collins and then JAQ started going on about how she had seen him in the canteen that day and what a nice person he was and that he was trying his best.

Difficult to see anyone taking the job on right ahead of the playoffs without the club offering serious coin. They'd be on a hiding to nothing. Wouldn't want that on your CV; failed playoff attempt in your first couple of weeks.

Seems absolutely crackers to me now, bringing anyone else in before the play offs. They will have two days tops with the players. At that stage, trying to change things will probably do more harm than good. Got to stick with Devaney now for me.

Are they any more trigger happy than anyone else though? We had a nightmare in the last relegation season, but either side of that we’ve had several managers lured away after doing well.

What do we class as ‘having a clue’ though? There are lots of football club owners in the same boat, learning as they go and trusting others that are ‘football people’ to see to the day to day stuff.

    I'll rephrase the question.

Has any professional club ever gone into the play-offs with someone 'in charge of picking the team' whom has never won a league game as a manager?

Having someone in charge of team affairs who has actually won a game for starters - that would be having a clue.

Can you explain the logistics of that? They employed someone who had won plenty of games - Collins. Are you suggesting they should have already had a winning manager waiting in the wings for when they decided to sack him?

It’s not a matter of being clueless, it’s living in the real world.

Rotherham managed to do it - are we less competent and professional than them?

Free hit, if they fail no future employer would hold it against them but if they are succesful it would be a huge tick on the CV.

That team was on top form and just beaten Champions Wigan 4-1 at their place.. Sorry but this team isn't as good as that side. No one had any doubts that whoever we met in the semis and final we wouldn't beat.
Not the same this time Andy.. but we live in hope, on our day we can still come out on top of the other 3 play off teams.
But our form is worryingly poor..
