Just a question - i know some have stated that they can`t/won`t go if we get through but how many of the stop at home to watch because we`re rubbish/have no chance fans will go to Wembley if we get there?
I am other way around. Going Friday but said on here a few times this season I wouldn't go to Wembley. It isn't performances related.
Then don't say there will be an update in the coming days if there isn't one. It's another thing the club has said or done that hasn't happened.
As I've said elsewhere today, a Friday evening game on TV at the start of a bank holiday weekend is always going to see a lower attendance than we'd see for a Saturday 3pm kick-off. People have got holiday plans, people live and work away and can't get back, people are skint, and lots of other reasons before you get to the on-pitch issues.
Then it will give a true reflection on where we are as a club and fan base.. The club from the board down will have to change tack to reverse this down hill spiral.. That's if they want to, or do a Reading owner and refuse to put in any more cash. Think everyones sick of the rebuild every twelve months situation.. Poor coach gets sacked decent coach move on. We bring in too many players that don't improve the team.. never know our subs be as bad as they are currently for not improving the the first team when they come on.. The cracks can no longer be papered over.. Promotion or stay in L1.. we are in mess through poor management. The board would say promotion I'm sure..but with the state of our squad it would take every penny of the 8 million promotion fund just to keep us in the division. Something as got to give this summer.. Does everyone remember the way to Scunthorpe and Oldham..
If by some minor miracle we do get to Wembley I think we’d struggle to break 20k. Been there too many times, awful place, awful place to get to and get back home, so expensive. Horrible place if you lose. League 1 and League 2 Play-Off finals should be at Old Trafford IMHO.
Yeah **** area, overpriced tickets, overpriced food n drink, long journey both ways and novelty worn off from going many times before. Would have to be Championship play off final or another FA Cup semi for me.
Been to every play off final we've ever been to and if we make it I'll be there.. get tickets for Friday when I get paid.
Not surprised, as a large majority of season ticket holders were against sacking Collins. More to his sacking? Maybe, but nothing shared. So at face values, board disloyalty breeds fan disloyalty & I'm okay with 100s of season ticket holders voting with their feet. Reap what you sow.
Wembley has lost the magic it had with the old stadium. Seeing the twin towers as you walked down Wembley Way towards the stadium was a great visual memory. Now the stadium is surrounded by sky scrapers and outlets there to milk the experience for all of its worth. You don't even see the stadium till your almost on top if it. The parking has also deteriorated beyond recognition and it can now take over 2 hours to get away from the place. The working class sport we grew up with has been sold out to rich businesses. Totally agree that League 1 final should be held up north somewhere. Old Trafford or Etihad depending on potential attendance.
I get that money is tight. If it weren't I'd be coming over to watch it. That wasn't my point though. It was being inferred that people weren't going to go to a HOME semi-final because of a lack of communication from the Board. If there is another reason like you've lost interest that's fine. Don't call yourself a supporter though if that's the case. You're a lapsed supporter. Fair enough. Otherwise it's a play off semi final. FFS get behind them.
The whole situation right now is a joke. Sacking a manager before the playoffs and having nobody to replace him... it's bonkers. We've wasted this whole season now. Have someone lined up or don't sack him! Disco is a legend but this isn't a good situation for him to take charge of. No way we go up with him thrown in as caretaker the week before
Maybe me. I'm not going on Friday simply because I'm fed up of travelling 100 miles round trip to watch dross. However if we did pox it through to Wembley then I'd probably go. I've really enjoyed the last few trips and despite last season's final I would enjoy it again. How could you not want to see your team at Wembley? I drive down by myself, park at the usual station, walk down Wembley Way, am in awe at the size and spectacle of the ground. I don't buy any extras, I've taken my own sandwiches and coffee/pop. It's a wonderful day out and I'd do it every time.
Hope the players don't have the same attitude of some fans.. wouldn't want to be in the trenches with some.of you lot
