Absolutely pants, we have it because the sky engineer refused to fit a dish to our new house. Apparently there’s some large trees in the line of sight so the dish won’t work. If you’ve had Sky Q previously it will be horrendous and a real culture shock. Intermittently freezes when watching live tv and and boxes shut down and reboot for no obvious reason. Our broadband isn’t fibre but we get a respectable 56mb/s. According to Sky we should be ok with 2 boxes, never used them both at the same time and still they glitch. if it’s your first experience of sky then it’s maybe ok, but if I had another option I would take it tomorrow.
We have this, Wife signed up as Virgin was approaching £200. Started off was fantastic, excellent picture quality and sound. Couple of things to consider, you can’t record everything is on catch up. After a couple of weeks we noticed watching live TV is near on impossible as the sound and picture freezes for temporary blips, to me it’s like it can’t keep up. If you dont watch live TV it’s great. Wr have reported it and their standard answer is turn off and reset which works but you would need to do on a almost daily basis.
I'd recommend to use it with FTTP (Full ffibre) whilst it will probably work on ADSL/FTTC, I wonder about the reliability. You also need bloody good wifi unless you see ethernet it up.
I wouldn't bother. I have Sky Q and don't want an update. The live pictures are more delayed and you're reliant on an Internet connection. If Internet goes down where you live you can still watch TV. If you get Sky Stream and it goes down you're screwed.
OK thanks for the answers. I'm with Virgin at the moment and it's ok, was with sky before (sky q) and that was ok. Virgin contract ends soon and was just weighing up my options, looks like a play off between the two for the best deal. Cheers every body.
