So as I mentioned yesterday, I simply cannot afford the outlay as we're going away soon, am I a lovely person? Or can I still be in the club? Nothing will change while people keep handing over their money. We've listed from one f**k up to another for several years now, all the while the playing side of the club has been on a steady decline since the current incumbents took over. Promises of learning from their mistakes broken time and time again. People's personal choice to stay away does not make them any less of a fan of this Club. It's probably harder for them to stay away than it would be to just cough up the money and turn up every week. I don't think the current board have the first idea how to run a football club, that doesn't mean I hate the Club, quite the opposite, I'm fuming that our amazing Club is becoming a laughing stock and not enough people are saying "no more". Go tomorrow night, that's your choice, but don't come on here belittling others for their choice not to. It's unnecessary and unfair.
They seem to think so, hasn’t gone anywhere else, so 6 monthly visits to monitor it. I’ll lose some or all sight in that eye, but can live with that.
The video is linked on this thread, might not work if you don’t have Twitter though. The OP didn’t originate this - and certainly wasn’t trying to have a go at anyone.
Yeah but you’re a c@@t … The confusing thing is that I’m going to the game - but I’m definitely a c@@t too
Cheers. Yeah quite a few reds fans over our way. Quite a few regulars, but sadly outnumbered by Leeds. Not many Wendy’s though, we don’t have to tolerate them
Same here. I don't particularly care if folk think I am a .... For doing so. I've stuck enough money into the club over the last 40 years to be able to make a choice. I do however, think it's funny. And knew where it had come from before posted by the OP, so I didn't particularly feel the need to pile in either. Everyone has circumstances, I don't think anyone not going needs to air their own particular circumstance to prove it either. Just seems there is an air of "you don't go so you opinion isnt valid" going on right now on this board
I have Twitter, just haven’t seen it. Read the original post and replied. It’s no biggy. People upset each other all the time rightly or wrongly.
actually not true, technically we live in a world where, people have a go at other people who get offended by summat that doesn't offend them personally, but then go off on one at something they ( the ones having a go ) are offended at that others see as nothing. See I have always been sensitive to this subject because (1) I had a disabled lad who would have loved to go to matches with his dad but physically wasn't capable (2) as someone who loved to get to matches but can hardly manage it now and (3) feels for people who are equally a bit sensitive especially due to illness or disability! But hey if that makes me professionally offended , then so be it, as long as folk are having a laugh crack on!
I felt that the OP was just a bit of a laugh and clearly not aimed at those in situations such as yourself. There are clearly those on this thread that have taken offence to it. I'm not sure why things on here are blown up and made into a serious issue so much.
I'd love to know the exact moment our fanbase fractured so much into two completely separate entities. Because thats what's happening here, the toxicity is mainly coming from the fans now and it's turned into a unhealthy relationship where one side deliberately says things to provoke a reaction and then gets arsey and defensive when the reactions comes back at them. This isn't me solely blaming the "match going" elite either, there are people who stay away from Oakwell who regularly post **** just as a wind up and to stir the pot some more. It clearly CLEARLY shouldn't matter how you support Barnsley FC tonight. Are you going to the match? Great. Are you watching at home? Great. Aren't you going out shopping instead or going golfing so you'll miss the game? That's great too. If we're not all in it together as a collective, how do you expect 11 players on the pitch to be as well? There are people constantly saying "we were here before them and we'll be here long after they're gone" Prove it. Much like a relationship you can be fuming with each other but when it's game time you put differences aside and support as a collective for those 90 minutes. You reds.
the point I was trying to make is that to the able bodied they might think they are having a laugh but to s lot of others it will definitely hurt!
Saw them ejected, but don't think that was the reason, they were no where near the directors box and seemed to be "substanced" up, but that is an observation rather than a fact. I didn't see what led to them being thrown out.
