not devaneys fault we're in this mess, it's Collins he lost dressing room ages ago, been shipping 2/3 goals a game for months

In all fairness people who wanted Collins gone didn’t expect it happening when it did and the board not having a replacement lined up.I don’t blame Devaney he’s not a manager/head coach, unfortunately it is all down to the board. We are only 2 goals down, we just need to go for it from the off. If we can find an early goal they could crumble and one positive we are better away from home. There is still hope but it is a fools hope.

I don't rate the board, they made a terrible decision. But the immense pressure put on them by people who are now blaming anything else other than what they have been screaming for all season is real.

I'm the only person in the country who rates Max Watters. And I still believe he'll be a good player.

He’s been put in two very difficult situations, so I’m not gonna start having a go at him. But he’s given me no confidence at all that he has the credentials to lead the team forward. I want him to stay at the Club and in the town. He’s a credit to both. However I don’t want him to be given this job. I don’t think he has what it takes and would hate to see him leave the Club under a sacking.

I don't necessarily think that's the case Some continuity is a good thing imo, otherwise when the new manager ***** up he takes all the coaching staff with him.

Looking for a minute, or trying to, from the outside. The board have tried to appease fans for the poor style of play, shocking defending and lack of points over the past few months. It probably had more to do with with lack of season ticket sales and them doing the math.
We have now leaned, they have tried to get someone in but failed miserably and so had to go to Devaney, who although a great servant is no where near the standard required to get these players suddenly rediscovering our previous points tally.
The main problem as we know is our recruitment and the recent debacle with the replacement of our coach has underlined this is in bold capital letters.
I want to believe and do believe our suits mean well and doing their all in terms of effort to turn us into a better outfit but, like our defence, we just keeping making the same school boy errors.
This all said .....we have another chance at a major reset this summer. I have mentioned this before....we absolutely need a statement of intent and a short, medium and long term plan and we need to be told this, for us to join in the journey. Every summer seems to be the same with fire sales and the the inevitable fire fighting to plug the gaps!
We need the recruitment team to be the best its ever been.

I've said before definition of madness doing the same thing but expecting a different outcome. Why get rid of Collins and keep his assistant and I'm not sure what Devaneys official title is surely they are part of the problem. Why get sledgehammer in then find out he can't get a Visa surely that's a matter of fact ,total madness.

What do people want from him? Starts for Cotter? Russell? McCart? Watters? Jalo?

He’s in the same boat Collins was & that’s that there’s not a lot of quality beyond his first 11.

Bit harsh all this criticism. Up against a much better team and in a high pressure match. Not much in it during the first half. A goal which, to me, is offside. A second goal which is an individual mistake - and let’s be fair that’s not all Devaney’s fault. And a third goal where 9 times out of 10 the ref blows for a foul on the keeper. Felt the officials had a bit of a shocker. Was absolutely desperate to give the benefit of the doubt to them. It’s down to such fine margins and to have them as a deciding factor in such a huge game is really tough to take.

I find the whole booing players in such a big game and being so negative about it baffling. I get it that it’s been a bit of a poor season but what’s the benefit of booing and being so negative. I’m not saying that people aren’t entitled to their own opinion but at least try to be constructive about it.

It was all a bit toxic last night. It’s only football at the end of the day and we were beaten by a better team.

We’ve one more game to go. Are we likely to get anything out of it? Probably not but I’ll at least be up for it and willing the lads on.
