The carpark was absolutely rammed tonight. More cars in it than I've seen for years.

But the club didn't help with getting people in. Not bothering to open a fan zone for play off game is pathetic.

Should have had the fan zone open and a **** load of different food kiosks outside the ground. It's an evening game so show some business acumen and get people down to the ground to spend money buying food. Not at Barnsley, zero attempt made to make money and zero attempt made to create an atmosphere

The atmosphere was as good as its been all season. Even at 2-0 we were still getting behind them. The players gave everything but it wasn't quite enough. Why do people consistently need to have a go at the club.

Turnstiles closed before a big game and steps closed off behind ponty when leaving ground because of a bit of water i honestly think the club purposely can’t wait to piss fans off.

Maybe some people just want it to be the best it possibly can be rather than shrugging their shoulders and saying it'll do

Highlight a post where I’ve ’encouraged toxicity’.

I have pointed out it was there, but I have never at any point, nor will I ever, boo, hiss, shout negativity at the team on the field. I have only ever offered support at games as I don’t see the point in getting on their backs. I’d challenge you that I haven’t encouraged toxicity at any point.

I’ve lost my rag at times this season having endured a lot of dross; I have chosen to vent that in here rather than act like a child in the stands shouting and swearing at footballers - but I am 100% certain there are people who have been a mile more irrational, shouting for Collins out well before I did and at random times, as well as being negative constantly. I have not been that.

I also wasn’t belittling anyone tonight, just pointed out it was strangely flat earlier on, more so than it has been around the ground - certainly than before the playoff match last season but even in games this season. Maybe it was as there was no fanzone and no reason to get there early - something I wasn’t aware of before I got there. The atmosphere by kick off and during the early parts of the game was actually very good.

You haven’t reacted the same for other posters who have posted much more negativity. Your choice I guess.

Whatever though. You don’t care for what I write. I can accept that, no problem - it’s all opinions and I don’t seek for people to agree. No issue there.

But - “I’ve helped ensure what brought us together for almost half a century is no longer part of our lives?” **** off you melodramatic pillock. I have done absolutely nothing of the sort.

Nothing worth getting there until five mins before kick off. We didn't even bother with a fanzine so they could get a solo artist to play a guitar to a few songs, which is the usual go to in there.

The club haven't got a clue. Let's take ESL concourse as an example. The TV that's been off since last year. Two games in a row with the tanoy not working so nothing but silence. The red metal gates that close gangways off at the concourse are full of cobwebs, rusted away and in need of a lick of paint. The price list is hidden at the catering queue.

13,846 is a poor turn out for a playoff game. I totally get why people weren’t bothered, but it’s still disappointing. There were nearly 2500 more home fans for the same game last season.

Thankfully, the atmosphere was still decent tonight. Shame about the result though.

It’s a bank holiday weekend this year, there could easily be a few thousand off somewhere Fri-Mon.

I think that’s one of the highest attendances we’ve had all season. It must be the only attendance that is actually the right figure, and not exaggerated by 2k!
On a separate point, thought the atmosphere tonight was better than it’s been for a long time and 100% better than the Northampton game.

And bolton fans only sung when they scored. Silent again when we pulled one back!

Plenty have been vocal on here about not attending because of recent form/bad weather/fear of a heavy defeat/apathy. Had we won a few more games in the run in, I can guarantee more people would’ve turned up tonight - regardless of it being a bank holiday weekend.

Would you care to qualify that?

    In what way?

I rant and moan sometimes on an online forum - but I go to games and support the team. No negativity from me in the stands, no abuse on Twitter towards the owners.

Is my view that the manager needed to go what you deem as the contribution?

Still waiting for examples of where I’ve ‘encouraged toxicity’ as well.

I hate that the games went as they did and it was so edgy. I continued to go despite it and tried to change it if anything. My voice wasn’t loud enough on its own.

Come back and join us - and maybe we can get a bit of positivity back in the stands next season. We will bloody need it, with the players out of contract and the inevitable sale of one or two to balance the books, and the likely replacements being young punts, next season could be a tough, long haul. I’d not be surprised to see us closer to the bottom six than top six.

But I’ll still be there. Trying to support them.

I’m not sure how any of that encourages toxicity or leads to you and your friends not attending any more.
