    Genuinely I felt nothing with regards the result last night, I didn’t go,(yes I know I’m a **** :D) i didn’t even bother watching it on sky,
There was a time I’d be absolutely gutted when we lost and buzzing when we’d won but for some reason this season I’ve felt nothing and to be honest my interest as been waning for a while, not sure if it’s that I’ve realised that in the grand scheme of things football really isn’t that important or that I’ve got more interesting things going on in my life,
I’d love to have the passion for the club back but at the moment that seems a long way off,

Exactly matches my thoughts Roy. Life's too precious and I've been falling out of love with the game for a few years now.

Saturdays for me are for spending time with family now

I just want the season over wish we hadn't made the play offs given Lincoln a go. We haven't looked good enough all season bar the odd game. The results never matched performance on the pitch. Season over see if I can be arsed with next season looking forward to some.good away days Rotherham, Huddersfield, Mansfield, Wrexham, Stockport.

I've supported this club for over 40 years but this season has finished me off. I'm sad to say I will not be renewing next season.

    The season is over.

    In for a difficult summer.

Which manager/coach will want this gig?

What level of recruitment will we be going for?

These are the questions no one will be losing sleep over these days.

Similar sentiments. But my love for the club has been drained by morons who claim to support us.

Honestly think I'm done after 50 years.

I care less so this chimes a lot with me. . This year I’ve not had a season ticket though attended 70% of games but if something else comes up there is not the gut wrenching decision anymore it’s yeah let’s do that.

Collins ball really was the final nail in the coffin of my enthusiasm. Think I’m gonna give it one last go with a season ticket next season and if I feel the same i am done.

I feel exactly the same @Bossman. In all my years watching Barnsley I have never felt so apathetic. I also didn’t watch the game last night and won’t be watching the second leg either, and it’s highly unlikely I will be taking an interest next season either.

    Exactly same.
My youngest was coming home from Uni last night. Arrival time 7:40. I chose to miss the game.
Years ago I’d have moved heaven and earth to get to that game. I think since lockdown, I’ve realised that missing games is not a disaster. I no longer plan holidays, weddings etc around the fixture list.

Exactly the same, glad the season ticket money x 5 is still in my Bank account, a nice holiday instead I think!

Yep that’s exactly how I felt. I gave up my tickets last night as my son got picked for a grass roots tournament that they ultimately won - didn’t feel any sadness or disappointment when I saw our result as I knew we are streets behind Bolton. At least we all don’t need to fork out for going to Wembley at least. At this point not even sure I’m going to bother watching the game on Tuesday night.

I've felt this way for the last few months, it's just poor fare we are expected to accept. Last night I watched a film in stead of watching the match, this tie was always a mis-match, its a shame the club is run by people of little imagination and, let's be honest, very little is going to change anytime soon.

This thread should be sent to the board and senior staff at Oakwell and should shake them to the core. The posters aren't fair weather supporters they are / were Barnsley FC to the core to see so many admit they just don't feel the same about the club anymore is both sad and worrying, because it shows the club is losing it's supporter base. I watched the game last night due to other commitments meaning I couldn't be certain I'd make the match, but previously I would have made sure I would or gone in late but I couldn't see the point because deep down I knew we'd get exactly what we got. The result would have hurt in the past but last night it just didn't. It simply doesn't feel like it's our club anymore it's lost its way and is drifting ever further away from it's fanbase.
The owners may be nice people but they've shown by their actions since they took over that they just aren't very good at running a football club and it's not a situation that's getting any better the longer it goes on.

The level of apathy from plenty is disappointing to hear, but completely understandable.

It’s a vicious circle. Fewer season tickets sold means less money going in. Less funds to invest in the players required to go for promotion, or at least be competitive. The longer it goes on, the worse it gets.

This managerial appointment is massive. Get it wrong again and who knows where we’ll end up.

That’s not even a viable argument I have no faith in them to invest the money regardless of how many tickets we sell.

What makes you think it was an argument? I’m merely suggesting that fewer fans = less money and that won’t make things any better. Hence, viscous circle. It would only be an argument if I said not renewing was the wrong choice for fans to make, but I never said that.
