After giving their keeper an early warning for wasting time he let him and the rest of the team waste time for the rest of the game. Although had they got a rush on they may have had time for a fourth. All the bookings were justified.
When Cosgrove was pushed over their man should have been off, offside goal was on, I don’t think it was a penalty but he did, when their man was fouled the ball was in the north stand, Jerome conned the referee who couldn’t see what had happened anyway,Jerome been doing that since he were a kid at Nostel but he deserved a 2 for turning up
Failed to book their player early on when he pulled back O'Keeffe and got worse from then on. His willingness to allow them to move the ball including actually kicking it into the West Stand on one occasion whenever we had a free kick was annoying - wasn't there a rule change this season that it would be a booking? As was he willingness to allow them to waste time - at one point he made the wind-it-up motion to their keeper 4 times within the space of 2/3 minutes and yet allowed it to continue. Capped off for me when their player feigned cramp in front of the Ponty to prevent us taking a corner towards the end. He absolutely should have waved play on. He allowed their play-acting to continue throughout. And yet kept Cole off for what seemed like an eternity - I think the rule is 30 seconds, but it seemed like more than that to me. I thought he was weak and poor. 3 at best.
Bang on the money about the okeefe one. Horrendous there was also a really bad foul on Kane that should have been at least a yellow- he gave no card
Yes, I'd forgotten that one! And the fracas towards the end with the push on Cosgrove. In the PL I think that may have resulted in a red.
2 just thought he was poor and inconsistent after a decent(ish) start warning the keeper for time wasting
The booking on Connell for going shoulder to shoulder competing on the half way line early in the match was my favourite
Thought he handled the first half reasonably well in what was a highly charged game. Progressively lost control and consistency, culminating in his inexplicable failure to disallow their 3rd goal. Key decisions once again influence the outcome of a key game, and possibly a whole season. 3.
Me too. I understand that it’s a straight red if you strike someone in the face and it wasn’t in the face, but it was completely completely unprovoked and he did push him with force. For me, that’s a red card
Should have been down to 9 men for the push on Cosgrove and the dangerous lunge on Connell. Warned the keeper about time wasting after about 2-3 minutes which he didn't heed advice but didn't need to because the ref somehow never booked him.
