I’m seeing a lot of stick thrown in Devaneys direction on here & on social media. I just want to be clear that in no way is Devaney at fault for any of this & he has seriously been thrown up **** creek without a paddle by the pillocks that are at fault, the board. He’s doing the best he can with the crap he’s inherited in such a short space of time. While I think it was the right decision to sack Collins, It was absolutely criminal the board yet again had no clear plan in place, & now it’s Devaney unfairly suffering. I sincerely hope Devaney still has a role to play at the club going forward, as he clearly has a genuine love for the club.
Sorry mate, but that was indefensible letting it drift from half time till the 65th minute last night. Defensive set up for corners is a joke and he's been coach for how long? He shouldn't be anywhere near this senior a role.
Absolutely not all his fault but most definitely part of the problem,he was put in charge and he said we were going to be more positive his idea of that is lumping it up to Cole and Mcatee against centre halfs who will win headers all day long.
Yep, I agree, but it’s not his fault the powers that be aren’t competent enough to have a clear plan & be pro active rather than reactive. He’s stepped up but he didn’t really have a choice in the matter.
Get a grip. Nothing will change if you’re happy with how things are being run & calling out supporters rather than the real problem.
You and your ilk will never be satisfied. You have to moan about literally everything. You need help.
Do you actually think that the board trains the players, pick the team, and are in the dugout on match days making decisions?
He's been part of our coaching staff a lot of years now, so being around these players all the time helping the guy who got sacked, he should have an idea of what could be tried differently.
imho ffor what it's worth-we have no leader in the team- we badly need a redfearn-who can organise the defence and midfield - our midfield should be the 1st line of defence-and it shows. when we push up.we are poor at recovery. We definately need an 'old head' a.s.a.p.
Yes I am, who are you to tell me I’m not a supporter, the countless £££’s & hours I’ve put into the club over the last 2 decades.
Where exactly do you lay the blame for a team that was genuinely contesting automatic promotion to becoming one devoid of cohesion and confidence? Exactly the same players. JAQ? Neerav? I'd suggest you need to look at the playing and coaching staff. But I know you won't.
Yep Iv already said I agree with Collins sacking, but let’s be right, the board were useless with recruitment also, & yes some of the players have been pathetic this season
For me there’s at least a couple of ways of being supportive......i.e. financially or verbally.....for whatever reason it is, you don’t support financially and as for verbally?......99% of time you just spout negative diarrhoea. Find some other hobby to direct your immense supportive prowess, it may do you good
Things have been negative for quite some time, apart from a period last season, so I will call a spade a spade. When things pick up I which they will at some point surely, the same applies
I'm disappointed with how little he's been willing to change things, or take a calculated risk in his approach to either game. I don't blame him for failing in the play-offs, as this was always on the cards, but we're essentially doing it with a continuation of Collins-ball. Whether that's ultimately down to the limitations that Devaney has in the #1 HC role, or whether it's because there's no scope within the squad to do anything meaningfully different is the bit I'm less sure about. I just don't get the feeling that he's grasped the opportunity in a situation where there was little downside or expectation for him.
