Had there been VAR...

I'm pretty sure Bolton's 1st and 3rd goals would have been ruled out. Having watched the goals back, there looks to be an offside in the build up to the 1st goal, and it looks like Roberts is fouled in the 3rd goal. Given that there will be VAR in the final, should we be calling these decisions out? Just on a personal side note; we were pretty poor and didn't deserve anything out of the game.

 

If your game plan depends on relying on officials to see minute offsides you’re destined to fail. A better game plan is don’t let the opposition score 2/3 goals a game

Didn’t work for us at Wembley. I don’t think I will ever understand why we didn’t get a pen for the foul on Liam Kitching every bit of clear and obvious error.

 

Knowing our club if there had been var in use the cameras would have been turned off

 

I don’t understand why we didn’t ask for the audio either as I’d love to know what the justification was

It was totally unprovoked and excessive.

 

Were we that poor? I thought it was a pretty even game in open play but we shot ourselves in the foot twice.

 

The foul on Robert’s should have ruled out the third goal but the ref either didn’t see it happen or bottled it (having already ruled one out for a foul in the box)

 

I think it’s the latter.

Their fouling off the ball was a disgrace. Cynical tactics that come straight from their meat head of a manager who tries to present himself as Pep Guardiola

 

First goal was offside twice IMO. Still we failed to defend it. With schoolboy defending for goal 2. Goal 3 looks like Roberts is obstructed, but we have 10 other men in the penalty box looking disinterested.

I'm DJing Tuesday night, so glad I can't watch TBH. I enjoyed the atmosphere last night from the ESL, despite a slightly lower than normal crowd for a playoff. We created chances, but gifted them goals. If we did go up with this defence we'd be conceding 3-4 goals per match.

 

Phillips was in the right position to head the inswinger away but one of their players rugby tackled him as the ball came in.

 

Goal shouldn't have been allowed but it was a corner that they had obviously worked on ad they got away with it so fair play to them.

I'm sorry for this but Roberts and Williams should be dropped for the penalty I am so angry with them both. Shambolic.

Kane and Cole shouldn't make the bench for the next leg.
They both know the fans are on their backs and they are leaving, it's clear they couldn't care less and can't wait to get away.
You can't play them when they are not 100% focused on such a big game.
