For their centre half pushing over Cosgrove in stoppage time right in front of the ref?

He went down like he'd been shot

Doesn’t make it less of a red card

    That's not the point.

I've gone on the FA rulings page as to what constitutes a red card.

"Using excessive force against an opposing player whilst not playing for the ball"

I thought raising hands was a no no. Commentator said he made the most of it but he did give him a proper shove!

Also I was disappointed that no action was taken against their man who tried to break connells legs but missed. That lunge was as dangerous as any I've seen

I saw that and couldn't believe nothing was said about it.

No he didn’t go down as if he was shot, he was apologising to their centre half for what was a genuine accident and was caught off balance. Anyway what if he did, the Bolton players were doing it all night. Just another bad decision amongst a few

It wasn't Phillips doing the tackle.

Yes I may be bitter, but we don't half get some referees that seem to be "bought". It happens way too many times for it just to be incompetence

Like when Charles got caught under the armpiit after a challenge by Luca or was it Philips?

Rolled around holding his face, embarrassing what some of these players do now

Same lad Sheehan who dove to try get a free kick in the first half which the ref saw but didn't even have a word with him about it after.

It is though he made a absolute meal of it. We're clutching at straws here.

Had we had the correct studio pundits we'd be talking McGeehan 3 match ban.

Not really. Doesn't change the match outcome but boot on other foot then there'd but Bolton players surrounding the ref.

I’m not going to blame the ref for the loss as we gave 2 goals away ourselves but I felt he definitely gave them more than us, a couple of really cynical tackles went without yellows just because our player managed to stay on their feet, which meant they had licence to keep doing them, he seemed to take an age to let Cole back on, (I know the 30 second rule but it just seemed longer than I’ve seen week in week out), the tackle mentioned above on Connell and I’m sure it was a pen on cosgrove, their player had both arms around his waist and just wrestled him to the ground like as though it was sn Olympic bout.

No doubt imho that their (ahem) experience helped them last night. No problems with the scoreline or the result...but they managed the game and the ref was old manned.
Having said all that good luck to them, they were the better team and we didn't lay a glove on them until our goal out of the blue.

Also, a few where he played advantage and never went back and booked the player.

Yeah noticed a few of those.

Any idea why when we had a free kick in the box he pulled it back and made us take it again after we broke away down the pitch?
