Or whatever they are called. Won 5-1 away today. Their closest rivals for the title Wallsend lost at home. 1 point required from 2 games. (Far superior goal difference to wallsend. And 5 points in front. Also 2 games left) Next game next sunday v Wallsend away. Last game v Wakefield home. Wed 15th may.
https://footballinberkshire.co.uk/n...ow-the-english-womens-football-pyramid-works/ That's the pyramid. Isn't it like them going from National League to League 2? Hopefully at some point they will reach the WSL or even the Championship.
So it's looking extremely likely that Barnsley FC Women (affiliated with Barnsley FC) will play Barnsley Women (no longer affiliated with Barnsley FC) next season, in the Women's National League Division One North next season, in tier 4 of the women's football pyramid.
Am I right in saying Div 1 North has now finished, with Barnsley just managing to stay up in 9th, while Barnsley FC only need a point from their remaining 2 games to go up? I'm assuming their season is 22 games btw. I could be wrong. Edit. Horsley's side have two fixtures left to play. Next weekend's trip to Wallsend, who also have two to play and can - theoretically - still win the division. But they're five points behind so need to win both games and hope Barnsley lose their final fixture, at Oakwell against Wakefield on May 15th. Sound confusing? To put it in simplest terms - if the Reds draw in Wallsend next Sunday, they're champions and will secure back-to-back promotions!
Finished 4th apparantly. Beat Donny Belles last match today. So who'd have thought that Donny had fallen from grace so to speak. After such a distinguished past.
Who's finished 4th? Barnsley are currently second with two games still to play I think. Wallsend are currently 4th
The other Barnsley womens team who I assume you meant finished 9th. Wake up Marc lol. I gave an explanation as to our team in my 1st post. B4 Horsley in your post intervened with a similar explanation. 1 point against wallsend will mean champions and wakefield at home will be a victory parade. Dead rubber
Sorry mate. In that case I'm even more confused. They didn't finish 4th either. They finished 9th. Ni mind
Change the year Marc. Got to admit mate Took me a while to get the hang of the site. Season ticket holders get free tickets to the women’s matches don’t they, I believe? A big thing was made of the first match of the season being ‘on Oakwell’. Could we do the same for the last or is it too late? It’d be great for lots of people to see them again and cheer their promotion after seeing their first game of the season. It’d bring a bit of positivity to being a BFC fan again, too.
It's on a Wednesday afternoon May 15th 2pm so would be difficult for most. Unless they change it to an evening ko. On the main pitch. Type Date / Time Home Team Away Team Venue Competition Status / Notes L 15/05/24 14:00 Barnsley FC VS Wakefield AFC Women Barnsley FC Ladies Open Age Premier
Only other permutation is Wallsend would have to beat Barnsley and win their final game whilst making up a 19 goal difference where as Barnsley FC women need a point from either game (draw with Wallsend would seal it)
Said that in my 1st post. Tbh. As in 1 point required from 2 games. (Far superior goal difference to wallsend. And 5 points in front. Also 2 games left)
