Some very interesting names on this list standout ones for me Johnson Clark Harris at posh and Tom Carroll Central midfield ex spurs/swans, with James Husband LB and Joe Wildsmith GK also decent at this level.

Clark-Harris would definitely be worth a look, although I suspect he'll be off to Bristol Rovers.

All those are good just for a start and all either boost the squad or offer good options in first 11.

Lots in L2 available too plus player like El Mizouni from Ipswich who is a free agent this summer too. Plenty about but they just need to get a head coach sorted ASAP and then start getting signings made before other clubs beat us to them

 

Not sure how much game time Clarke harris has had this term but we should have been straight in for him when his move to Bristol rovers fell through' scored goals for fun at this level' no brainer..

 

Yeah just the 22 cleansheets out of 40 games and automatic promotion

 

For all the talk about how we need to "cut our cloth", this board won't even glance at that list. They won't be on the spreadsheet for one thing. We should be on this kind of thing like flies round turd, but we all know it's not that straightforward as we like to give ourselves unnecessary hardship.

Hate to be so negative, but i've come to realise this board probably don't even know what free agents are. I just hope for the best.

Btw Clarke-Harris would be top of my list to replace Cole

 

I'm not sure that's entirely accurate. We signed 3 players on a free last summer. Off the top of my head, I think we signed even more the summer before (Norwood, Cadden, Connell and Cundy were all out of contract from memory).

It's refreshing though to hear someone accuse the board of spending too much money.

 

It's the established players I'm on about. I dunno, maybe my confidence towards this board has dwindled

 

Every time I've seen him, he's looked very unsteady. Maybe I'm just biased against him because he used to play for Wednesday and had silly hair.

You must be because his stats are very good, I'd rather have a solid keeper with "silly hair" than a crap keeper with just a "regular cut"

 

Would love Johnson Clarke-Harris but believe his wage demands would be way too high.

Rumoured to be linked with Wrexham.

 

None of them getting a new contract because their wage requests are too high.

Even out of contract players can have unrealistic wage demands though. You mentioned Clarke Harris before, I'd be astounded if we can afford his wages. We've to look at players leaving clubs who don't necessarily have a higher wage bill, who we could compete against. One player I like the look of is Ruel Sotiriou; he's out of contract at Orient, probably not on mega bucks and would definitely improve our side. He's at a good age to improve. The issue is obviously whether he gets a better offer higher up.

There was an interview with Troy Deeney a little while ago, and he said he knows ex Premier League footballers who have been out of work for 2 years simply because they're unwilling to accept below a certain wage level.

 

Joe Rafferty and Sean Raggett. A couple of very good free transfer who both played a significant role in just getting Pompey promoted.

 

The prem players only have to sign one 3yr contract to be made for life not sure what the average is but let's say 60k per week even after mr tax man had is say it's still 1.6m. Made for life to them it's just a job dream to us mortals ,I'm sure some continue because they enjoy it but some don't give a monkey's uncle just show me the cash.

 

I was thinking Raggett would be a good signing. However, I think he'll end up back at Lincoln.

 

JCH has been linked to Charlton, Gillingham and Briatol Rovers, are you saying we can't compete with those clubs? It's not as if he'll have been on mega bucks at Peterborough, or is it we've just become conditioned to accept crap signings by saying we can't afford xyz but then we will go and sign 3 players that would cost the same collectively.
