Our cellar's flooded again. Water comes up through floor. Just finished brushing the muck away....

Had the same issue in my 1st house. In the coal cellar. Sometimes a couple of feet deep. Pity the poor buggers who lived lower down (on the incline) thankfully a couple of dry days and it would disappear.
You could buy a small sump pump if it's a major issue or get someone in to see what is causing the problem and offer a solution. Mine was brick floor and walls.

It's a 400 year old property. No foundations, just built on stone. It happens after a specific sequence of weather; same every time.

    Long periods of rain
    Dry warm spell
    Thunderstorm

The ancient drains just can't cope so water just rises up through floor. It's mucky with soil/earth , but at least we know it's not sewage related!! First time it happened, it was 3 feet deep - brand new chest freezer bobbing around like a bloody buoy Everything now up on stone shelves around edge, so it's an easy clean-up. Drain in corner of cellar - hose down and some effort with the yard brush usually sorts it
