Or carry on with fire stick and watch every Barnsley game home and away and avoid giving any cash to sky

It's the eternal double edged sword:
Sky: "Stop using dodgy sticks, our product will be cheaper"

Us: "Until your product is cheaper, we'll crack on with our dodgy sticks"

I really don't get why this argument is so prevalent. I'm not so naive as to think that people aren't going to continue to use illegal streaming services, but I find it bizarre that so many of them are so keen on advertising that they're doing so and encouraging others to do likewise. Presumably they don't have the same reaction when they see an advert for a new car or a nice jumper ("or just steal one and avoid giving any cash to the manufacturer / retailer"), so why are some people such strong and public advocates of ripping off digital media and ultimately, albeit indirectly, reducing the pot from which our own club receives funds?

I don't ever see sky dropping their full package and chucking in tnt and every other sports n film channel for £50 a year

Carabao Cup crowds are poor enough without every game being available to watch at home.

I don't use VOIP, and I refuse to pay for Sky, but for me, the media are stealing from us, albeit legally. At the end of the day, if top earners in football didn't earn so much, it would cheaper all round for everyone.

I think a lot of people are quite happy doing so because the chances of getting caught are remote.
People I know often dress it up as some kind of protest against companies like sky, but I think you can still protest by just not purchasing the product instead of stealing it.

That's probably true, but as a justification it's yet another degree of separation from the viewer / streaming service provider relationship where the illegal activity is being directed and encouraged. Isn't that a bit like saying "BP's dividends are disproportionate so you should bilk the Asda garage"?

I had less of a problem when sky had the monopoly . Now you've to pay for tnt, amazon too for the same games. Not sure of the solution though, upset the FA Cup is no longer free to view.

I get Sky Sports through Vodafone as a freebie add on to my contract so I’m hoping nothing changes there. It’s not as good as watching on the big smart tv but it will do for now

I don't like this, due to the scheduling.
    From FAQ, we have....
"There will be 19 matches in the regular weekend 3pm slot for Div 1 & Div 2 combined".
So that's quite a lot of regular shifting of fixtures.& they also say there'll be frequent coverage on Friday evening + Sunday 12:30pm.
Much prefer the Saturdays & seems we'll be moved around 4 times. Guess 1 or 2 Fridays, which is the slot I hate most of all.

It's like how people treat with outrage any internet source that's behind a paywall. Something which is a perfectly valid model for making a living.

There’s always something worth watching on Sky Sports so it keeps me out of the pub as much.
It’s quite easy to go out and blow £40 on ale n taxis so £100 a month for Sky soon seems cheap !

Added to all this, it's the fact we're paying twice - or more (see RedHelen's post which I 100% agree with).

To repeat my rant about paying twice though, adverts are their chosen revenue stream, so I don't see why I should have to pay to watch them. [other than a nominal fee for hardware and EPG updates etc]

We could have almost managed to meet the 20 game target this season, given the number of Tuesday fixtures, bank holiday fixtures around Christmas and Easter, and the early kick off for the last game of the season, that was 18 fixtures outside of the Saturday 3pm slot. No doubt however that Sky will pillock us about even more, as this is 100% designed to piss of lower league fans into supporting the end of the 3pm blackout.

I'm just amazed they've not charged an extra £20 for the new channel. That'll probably be season 2, after they've done you all this amazingly generous introductory offer.
