I'd commend them for giving it a go knowing in all probability he was going elsewhere and would tell us to stick it.
Congrats to huddersfield...moved efficiently to get their man. Historically he is a slow starter, getting his views and identity over to the players....so hope they are patient with him. Not sure we were ever going for him...Imho I would have liked him back....good luck fella.
Getting this sorted early going to be a big advantage for Huddersfield. Frankly Williamson might be the only option. Board needs to act quickly given how much of a rebuild is needed.
it’s taken them 3 days to get someone in, even Rotherham had Evans through the door straight away. We couldn’t be arsed to do background checks on Tallywhacker and that failed… this is why folk are pissed off; surely you can see that?!
From the outside looking in, BFC look like amateurs trying to play at been professional. They look clueless and I bet within the football circles our board are seen as laughing stocks.
Why is Williamson the only option? We can go for other coaches currently employed or there’s Leam Richardson who did well with Wigan in L1.
Cos I wonder just how attractive the job is at Oakwell these days. It wasn't me who said we find it difficult to attract decent calibre candidates. From memory it was one the recent CEOs.
Who wouldn’t have failed at Rotherham in the Championship? They were already adrift at the bottom when he got there. Rather have him than Williamson.
Maybe, just maybe, fans abusing a manager that takes a team to the brink of the top 2 and pretty much guarantees playoffs, to the point where the board panic and sack him doesn't make us an attractive proposition? I wasn't Collins biggest fan but his treatment was shocking, both from fans and the board alike. Wouldn't blame anyone for looking at us with a degree of hesitancy based on how we dealt with him. And that's before you look at candidates who might be put off by our model/philosophy of recruiting and style.
That's assuming.... 1) We wanted him. 2) If we did that he would want to come back knowing he's lost trust of a big part of our fans and would be working with a far weaker squad.
Why on earth would he have wanted to come back to us? He knows exactly what he'd be up against, so why would you? We move onwards and upwards towards our 5th or 6th choice, as ever.
Good. I’m glad that’s him out of the picture. Did well before for us, but at a different time with different players and opposition strength. We need someone for now, not the season before lasts scenario.
