People think its the traditional flavour of old Ireland that their forefathers drank...sadly not. Guinness did away with the traditional draught product in the 1960's for high pressure nitrogen pressurised dispense, a system invented for them by a London company.
Glad it's not me, one of the great myths. Been a few times to Dublin and l only drink Guinness, can't tell a difference
I agree entirely that it's a myth. As it is not a cask-conditioned beer, there's no reason at all why it should taste any better in Ireland than it does anywhere else. Bottled Guinness, on the other hand, used to be conditioned in the bottle. I don't know if that is still the case.
