Lack of communication is irrelevant re: the abuse she gets mate. Rather than abusing and insulting her why don't people just say 'any news on the head coach?' Its not hard to be polite if one has a brain cell.
I dont think you should get flak for that. Im not overly intetested in the womens football, probably cos I didnt grow up with it.However, there are a a lot who are interested and the number is growing. And, who knows, one day the Barnsley women's team may be in Europe while the mens' may be in non league.....:-(
Well I've seen just about the lot in my 63 years devotion to the cause, but one thing eluded me - seeing a Barnsley team lift a League Champions trophy. I was reconciled to the likelihood that I never would, but last Wednesday night the lasses did just that for me. Call it a tinpot trophy if you like,I don't give a ****. At 72 years of age I've finally seen a Barnsley team win a league! Now over to you, fellas.
Whilst the directors own the club, They entrust the running to the employees. The CEO. Being the main go to person. Yes they have a strategy as it's their money propping the club up. (Eg trying to make it self sustainable) None of us (or very few) like the grow to sell on strategy. But I don't think it's the same as under Conway. Players contracts are so difficult to get right. And they can't force a player to renew. Asking her who's coming and who is leaving is not summat she'll be able to answer on command. Highly unlikely for example that she would be on the interview panel for the new Manager./Head coach. She will be consulted and advised. Why anyone would think her main focus is Barnsley football club all of the time is sadly mistaken. Folk should be careful what they wish for when aiming abuse at her. She must have a thick skin. To put up with some of the s4ite posted. Wishing the womens team well is not summat to criticise.
Our owners have failed to thank the man responsible for us making the play offs. One of their staff thanked him, but not the people who brought him to the club. I think it's a poor show.
That quote from the staff member. Says we. As in the football club and the chosen representative. They may well have spoken to Collins privately. "We would like to thank Neill for his efforts during his time at the Club." The person who brought him to the club would have been Khaled.
I agree with you but it's so disappointing that some people seem to be unable to apply enough rational thought to understand that some decisions / actions can be good whilst others aren't so good and instead decide that anything and everything the club does is s**t. And that they're unable to control their emotions such that they so easily resort to abuse.
For those who are interested in today’s League Cup Final, we lost 1-2. Sunderland were a quality teams with quick passing & aggression - too much aggression at times resulting in 3 yellow cards (eventually). We matched them & played well - they took a halftime lead kicking down a slight slope & with the wind. One of our talented CBs, Bethany Ayrton had to come off with what appears to be a broken arm - it had disturbed us defensively as young Millard had to go into defence & we missed her speed on the left. 2nd half was even with a few goalmouth scrambles in both boxes - we were very unlucky hitting the bar - we conceded a good 2nd goal from outside the box & it looked all over. The team really went for it & scored a deserved goal - their keeper made a few good saves & there was an altercation that earned her a booking & Jess Horsley spitting feathers. Not sure what happened. The players did us proud today & should be receiving plaudits for today & the season as a whole
Some people may be thinking we shouldn't be losing to under 23 teams, until you realise that the majority of our team are also under 23. Take for example Jodie Gregory, striker and scorer of 21 goals in the 22 game season - 17 years old. Also Sunderland seniors are a Womens' Championship side, and some of their u23s on show today will likely have had Championship experience. Our girls should take nothing but pride from today's performance.
Give it a rest. Irrespective of the fact they may have privately thanked him. Do you think the owners of every club take to their personal social media accounts to thank employees they sack? Regardless, their representative thanked him. You are clearly picking fault when there is none.
