I liked Antony Kay. Wore his heart on his sleeve. Prob was never a Championship footballer when he played for us but cared every game.
well done Antony.... always liked yer... thought you should stay with us a bit longer. Didn't some manager want him gone because of a perceived attitude problem or maybe a bit of a drinkers group? Maybe I'm wrong. That may have been Jon Parkin .. anyway sound lads and I hope they still connect with home...
Chuffing hell JAQ and Mladen. Runcorn Linnets seem to be able to get their fingers out and appoint a manager in good time. Don't they know the season starts again in just 10 weeks? What are they playing at? We're a laughing stock. Pissing about doing nothing while clubs like Runcorn Linnets move to get their targets. If Runcorn Linnets can get a manager in place while we can't, we might as well just pack it in. I think that's me done. Again. Until we sign a few players I've heard of and win a couple of games, then I might change my mind.
Think he was a little out of his depth when we were in championship but can't question his determination or desire - would love to see him do well and work his way up to the pro leagues eventually!
Stroked home his penalty at the millennium stadium with class, great to see an ex red getting a crack, hopefully does well.
Good luck, an its not as bad as it sounds in the lower leagues been watching 6th 7th an 8th tier football for the last 3yrs, an little Beverley Town got promoted last week to tier 9,
If you say Runcorn Linnets 3 times into a mirror, Antony Kay comes round to your house and headbutts your entire family.
He's only 41, nobbut a bairn. Played 40-odd games for Runcorn last season and scored 5 goals. And who can ever forget his goal against Plymouth from halfway? Gerrim signed!
Decent player. But most memorable thing I remember about him. Sending off. after launching into Coppinger. I wish him well in his managerial career. He'll certainly stand no uncommitted performances.
