I'll go October. It gives you chance to select a new guy, him to assess the squad and have January to bring a couple of players in.

I thought the timings of the Stendel and Schlopp sacking were actually correct.

Struber was a masterstroke. Unfortunately Asbaghi was too far ahead of his time.

See, I thought we'd pulled a masterstroke, I mean, who sacks a manager in a playoff position with one game to go. We must have done it early, to get the jump on all those other clubs that'd wait till the season had finished to do their sackings, how boringly predictable of them.
Only they all got their someone new and we're looking a bit like the kid who always gets picked last int playground match.

They used to say a manager needs three seasons to turn a team around. It then went to two seasons. Now it’s Christmas.

Sheffield Wednesday once sacked their manager, Derek Dooley, on Christmas Eve 1973.

Immediately after they've won a trophy or got promoted. Cos that means you won a trophy or got promoted.

Otherwise, don't bother. They're all much of a muchness.

Get rid of the manager before you've actually brought him in like they did with Thalhammer. Then the board can say they got rid because he never won a game....
