Both giving different accounts of why Daniel Stendel turned down the Barnsley job. One giving transfer policy of board, the other DS unwilling to uproot his family.... Could be a combination of both. So one wonders what comes next in the joke that the club is becoming in the eyes of many of its supporters.
The owners at Jokewell don't seem to care about the fans. We've had no update at all since failing to achieve our promotion goal. We don't know what the plan is and they haven't given us any words of encouragement.

I would guess in footballing circles and the media the club are beginning to look increasingly inept and out of their depth. To put it politely. Big appointment needed, but the fact that Thalhammer was their man of choice I really don't think there is any hope with this lot. Game over until this lot sells up.
It would appear the board has now zero ambition ie building up a team year on year anymore. Is this annual sale of better players and replacing(unsuccessfully if last season was anything to go on) the reason Duff, Stendel and others turned down the job. It I fear us only going to end one way.. How many teams get better by selling their best players.
My first thoughts were that I have never seen as many diferrent conclusions to one topic on little or no evidence. Then I recall the last coach recruitment. Nowt changed with some folk on here.
Do you really believe this? I appreciate I'm on the more of happy clapper side of fans but in my head we kept all the out of contract players in the Jan window and planned to keep them all next season too assuming, we were going up. We didn't so we've had to let them go. Granted if we had gone up I think Kane would have left regardless, but the other 3 would likely have stayed. I do agree we need to keep a manager for at least 2 seasons to try and get some continuity, it's so frustrating. Again if we'd gone up with Duff, I think he'd have stayed we'd have bought Thomas and kept Kitchen, either kept Collins or bought Istead, but probably still lost Mads. It's really annoying but I'm sure no one at the club wants to keep restarting each year.
I suspect it's more the uprooting of family rather than transfer policy when DS is currently working at a level probably well below that of L1/L2 atm.
He had a great spell here why would he come uproot his family for a tough job with little transfer kitty and spoil his almost legend status.
