Shocking, just shocking. Grasping defeat from the jaws of victory. Awful collapse

Seems to me the squad needs a shake-up, proper losing mentality there. Even when we do get on top there’s no killer instinct to close a game out

Quite the collapse to lose 4 wickets for 3 runs.

I couldn’t believe what I was watching. While Lyth was there it looked comfortable. Then he tossed his wicket away when there was no need to play that shot and the rest was inevitable

Terrible end to the game, was there for the taking. I really don't know what Gibson does coaching-wise, clearly they have no confidence.

maybe we should try the minor counties? Might get a win against Lincolnshire?

The club has no money. Cricket is getting like football with Surrey taking the role of Manchester City.

Surrey are owned by their members so they're more akin to Bayern or Dortmund.

What Graves is proposing is that YCCC is run like a Man City...a slippery slope in my opinion.

Not sure what the answer is as YCCC are massively in debt.

Interestingly on the members survey sent out this week it had a question about where you would watch CC games - gave options of Headingley, Scarboro where they already play but also York (only 1 day games) and Sheffield (not played there in a while, presume Abbeydale?) In the space to suggest others I obviously put Shaw Lane. Might encourage people to attend CC games at alternative venues.

I know Yorkshires' a big old place but Headingley is just the worse place for a county wide venue, I live in Wakefield and could barely be @rsed traipsing up to North Leeds these days.

Hampshire weee transformed when they moved. As ever in these situations some of the members complained but long term it’s the right thing.

The money spent putting a wig on a pig should have been invested in a new build

No spinner in the 11 at Northampton… that’s probably a first and a reflection on the weather we’ve had!

Besides Bess, have we got a spinner for the county games ?
I’ve no idea what’s happening to Bess … last I heard was that he’d had a good time with the bat in Zimbabwe so Yorks. were nurturing him as more of an all-rounder

Moriarty is the other spinner -he's ok, but cant bat and not amazing in the field. Bess played recently at Headingley v GLA and got 5 wickets overall.

Sounds like todays pitch is like the one at Hove, green top for the seamers. Northants must be similarly blessed with world class spinners.
