I know an expert meteorologist. Text him earlier and he can confirm that we will have some days where there is rain. He’s normally bang on with these sort of things too.
There is an in depth weather report you can watch weekly on the Met Office YouTube channel called the Met Office Deep Dive, first thing they announced this week was that this headline is incorrect and misleading so don’t worry too much
Longer term forecasts based on the jet stream position and el nino etc can give a general "warmer and drier than normal" or "cooler and wetter than normal" sort of idea of what's coming. Generally in the UK, the further north the jet stream is, the warmer and drier it is.

Hot rain that'll save on mi heating and watter bill. Just ordered an open top cubicle to get showered in. Will pay for itsen this summer. Happy days.
As per usual, main stream media either misinterpreting data or just plain sensationalising normal occurrences. Up to 50 days rain in the summer months isn’t unusual, the Met office meaning of rain could be 0.1mm anywhere in the country. As said previously, the met office have just delivered their long term seasonal forecast stating that the summer is more likely to be hotter than the 30 year trend. unfortunately they girl presenting is a little tongue tied.
