Of course you can have an opinion. That doesn't mean people have to agree with it. Some people have the opinion that the world is flat. When people openly support a racist, grifting populist bigot, whose sole purpose it is to monetise division, then they should expect to be called out for it. Nigel Farage is a despicable human, directly responsible for peddling absolute $hite to vulnerable and gullible people, for personal gain. Anyone supporting him is either uneducated or equally bigoted.

Nigel Farage is a racist. If you support Nigel Farage, you support a racist. It’s that straightforward.

So people can have an opinion, but if it differs from the majority, they're uneducated. Bit of an underhanded way of saying they can't have an opinion really.

    It's a tricky one isn't it?

All political opinions are formed by the life experiences of that individual, along with their social circle. So intrinsically a political opinion cannot be 'wrong'. That being said an opinion can of course be ill-considered or just downright daft.

My life experiences, I assume, are very different to anyone who'd potentially vote Reform. So it's hard for me to imagine the influences that would cause someone to decide that Farage is the man they want to lead the country. Much like it may be hard for a Reform voter to see the other side of the coin.

Having studied politics I would say that it seems painstakingly obvious that Farage is only in the game to sow division, make some easy money and be in the spotlight. However, whenever we have a high proportion of poverty there will always be a drift to the right. So many in the UK have been left behind and so many areas and towns offer little hope of change. I can vaguely understand why voters would then be drawn to the nuclear option of blaming others for all life's problems, despite it obviously being the right-wing politicians in power coupled with a poor socio-economic headwind which have failed them.

I think Farage has a good chance of being the next PM but one. Can't see Starmer doing more than one term; the discontent with his failure to change anything will only magnify. In the meantime the 'Right' fractures and Farage emerges as head of a much more right wing populist party. There's loads of votes for him and his views in places like Barnsley; and the Centre Left are offering nothing at the moment except 'not being Tory'. That will do in the short term but it won't hack it over longer.

It's the way this forum works on political matters if you disagree with the mostly left posters the mud slinging starts and your wrong. Although imo farage is a racist.

People have every right to an opinion. But when challenged on it, they need to actually use facts, discussion and reasoning to explain their opinion.

I think it's a sad day if he does even have a chance of getting in. None of the candidates fill me with any confidence it's more who's best of a bad bunch. Things have got worse these past few years only have to try and get a g.p appointment which is getting increasingly harder, the lack of nhs dentists and look at the money been spent on housing immigrants. I really can't see this lot getting another term.
