If this crikkit thing is in Dallas, when are the Cowboys coming out ?. You know, I mean America's team and all lol. Ohh hang on, maybe I've got the wrong sport. Maybe I'm mixing up touchdowns with full tosses, and tight ends with silly slips etc.
Err no sir it does not! lol. New Yoik won't accept Wakey people, as they do have to draw the line somewhere.
Your determination to suck the fun out of everything is quite something. I almost applaud your commitment. I admit the lad that played for NZ and the one for Canada shouldn’t be allowed in. But they contributed 14 runs and bowled one wicketless over between them. Hardly swung the game did it? It was a great game that finished with a massive upset. Sport at its best. If your takeaway from it is a grumble about a couple of players way past their best helping out an emerging nation that’s rather sad.
As I just texted a sports-loving friend of mine, who would’ve been up for this, if she wasn’t working … Well, if that match doesn't get you Yanks interested in this tournament, nothing will.
They are getting ready for the Stanley Cup this weekend. The most northern Ice Hockey team vs the most southern. 3000+ miles between them.
https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...tan-11th-match-group-a-1415711/full-scorecard Going down the 11 man team where they were all born....... Florida Gujarat - India Welkom - South Africa New York Ontario - Canada Christchurch - New Zealand Mumbai - India New York Alabama Mumbai - India Punjab - Pakistan Over half of them wasn't born in the country they represent. I know we do the same but not that many in one go.
What does where you were born have anything to do with owt? If you move somewhere as a kid why shouldn’t you play for the country where you have spent most of your life? We do it with bells on. Our current test captain was born in New Zealand. Our star batsman in that amazing 2005 ashes series was South African. Our captain who played the biggest part of anyone in turning us into a white ball force is Irish. Hussain, Archer, Lamb, Joyce, there’s been dozens and dozens in my lifetime. In many cases literally poaching players. Like I say, I totally agree that if you declare and play for a country, you shouldn’t be able to play elsewhere when you fall out of favour. But to be honest with I’m chuffed for USA and if your going to watch that game then spend the immediate aftermath looking for negatives then I’m not sure it’s for you. It’s meant to be fun!
Presumably the ICC sets the qualification criteria for every country ? Does that apply to every international tournament ? If that is the case, they’re only playing to the rules.
I do think that once you've played for a country at senior level then that should be that. However, if you've had to flee the country or claim asylum I suppose it does seem harsh you can't play for the country you've now settled in.
