Such a shame that a grand prix game as Indiia Pakistan will be played on a wicket more suited to club cricket....
Looking forward to tonight. I fancy us to beat Australia and think at 11/10 we are overpriced. They have a couple woefully out of form in Head and Maxwell. Play Wood with Archer and get at them with pace. The atmosphere in Barbados will be electric. They should watch the current Kabul Zalmi game for some inspiration.... https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...mshad-eagles-9th-match-1436438/full-scorecard
Bloomin heck. . New Zealand not only beaten but trounced by Afghanistan. Afghanistan 159-6 (20 overs): Gurbaz 80 (56), Zadran 44 (41); Boult 2-22 New Zealand 75 (15.2 overs): Farooqi 4-17, Rashid 4-17 Afghanistan won by 84 runs
Quality team Afghanistan. Gurbaz is always a joy to watch. Both openers are 21 so nowhere near their prime and put on a century opening stand. Nabi is a good all rounder. Farooqi is class. Rashid Khan is arguably the best spinner there is. Noor is a good second spinner with Muljeeb out with an hand injury. Jonathan Trott is doing a great job with them. He will be back in the England set up one day.
Totally useless fact … as of Trotts retirement from test cricket, he held the record for highest number of test runs without a six. Told you it’d get you all excited and impressed. Afghanistan and Trott finished above Eng in last years World Cup 50 over format qualification table
This world cup is throwing up some surprises, but Afghanistan looked promising in the 50 over WC as well.
National anthems, SA absolutely beautiful to listen to, USA the other day had to cover my ears with all the vocal gymnastics!
Another superb one handed slips catch from Jansen. Fielding seems to be the star of the show this WC!
S A are in more trouble at the start of the innings than I thought they'd be! See how we fare against the Aussies!
