Can't stand the far right or the far left. Far right look like horrible edl members and the far left look like they need hardrives checking like the one that threw the missile

I'm not. I'm making a light hearted quip against a man in a daft hat.

Are you referring to Tony Blair using Campbells dodgy dossier to destroy Iraq?

Farage appeals to some people because he provides an outlet for their hatred and intolerance. He channels it for them, articulates it for them and gives them a chance to put a cross in a box so they feel they're having a say. He will not help working people out however but will destroy some of the last vestiges of hope and material decency they have (like the nhs) and he'll still turn round and blame further decline on minorities and wokeness. Until fundamental economic decline and inequality are addressed by politicians people like Farage will exploit fear and discontent and divide us all.

Couldn't have put it better myself - ones at the top always look for a scapegoat - a vulnerable group in society without much of a voice.

Forgive my ignorance but is this a general poll that doesn't take into account out constituency system?

Seems to be a general poll, the MRP polls are a huge piece of work so I wouldn't expect many more of those til the official exit poll

Thought so just wanted to check before I commented. I have often been critical of our system as it isn't representative.
As I get older I think the cynic in me believes true democracy wouldn't work anyway.

I think the biggest take away is the tories only having a one point lead of R and the Lib Dems getting quite a significant increase. Also demonstrates the balance of centre and left votes compared with right/ far right. 61 to 39.

Who keeps getting hoodwinked by the Lib Dems. Their manifesto is based whatever the public opinion seems to be on a weekly basis. Least trustworthy of all parties and would do more damage than even the green party would.

I could vote for a washing up bottle to button moon and it would make the same difference. Labour has a massive majority here so can literally vote for anything. Pleasant to see Lib Dems bring up social care at least which is a massive massive issue.

Yes definitely interesting Reform will hurt Tory votes for sure. Unlikely to win seats though so it will be on a case by case basis who that helps.

Labour definitely benefiting from the perceived move more towards the traditional centre on many issues. I know this upset a core of labour voters but pragmatically it's the only way they can come to power. Especially with many traditional labour voters so focused on immigration.

Living in Barnsley I feel like I've never had a vote in any general election as under our system not all votes are equal.

But yet, its always the far right whose hard drives contain material that get them sent to prison and banned from being within half a mile of a school. How many of Tommy Ten-names's mates from the EDL served prison sentences? How many Tory MPs had sex scandals in the last Parliament alone - including at least one alleged rapist.

Is that because it's normally a Labour landslide area? Or do you mean lack of PR?

    PR should defo be introduced.
