Is the England team now better than the so called ‘Golden Generation’ under Sven in 2002/4

    Gerrard also played as a defensive midfielder in the first half of his career.
    Like I said in other reply, I was responding to the claim he had achieved more.
    For the record clearly Bellingham is ahead of where SG was at the same age and I’m sure will go on to be a better player.

    Again, im not saying he could, I’m saying to date he hasn’t achieved more.

    And for the record I think Gerrard was a very good player but I think Bellingham has the potential to be exceptional and is pretty close to that already.

    Agree with this. I think Bellingham has the potential to be as good as Zidane . I’m not saying he will be, but all the signs are there.

    I think Bellingham will go on to be a great player. So far his record for England isn’t great but he has broken into the team 2 or 3 years before he should so he is maturing in role

    I agree, but he needs to watch that petulant side. His head went down when he didn’t dance past a defender. He went into complaining mode instead of making it happen. I think Palmer is also a very bright prospect.
