Apologies if already posted but Callum had to come off injured in the 41st minute of Hungary's last warm-up game on Saturday. They were fearful of him missing games but more positive news came yesterday. https://x.com/HunFootballXtra/status/1800147617361621407
Football fans on message boards, with rare exception, often prove themselves to be a bit of an arse hole.
He's in the New York Times now but not giving much away about his club future. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5554668/2024/06/12/callum-styles-hungary-barnsley-sunderland/
I was scanning through the Euros supplement from last Saturday’s Telegraph and noticed that Hungary had a Sunderland player in their squad….by the name of Callum Styles! That’s funny - I’m sure he’s a Barnsley player…
I did, but not very well At the same time, my point still stands since I don't find any of the sarcy quips & jibes the slightest bit amusing. Each to their own of course Just great to hear that the injury isn't as bad as first thought & hope he does really well (zilch to do with the shop window & would love to have him back in our team for the season ahead).
I just don’t feel like Styles is, or wants to be our player, and would rather Millwall or Marras had exercised his release clause after his loan spells there. I was surprised to see him feature for us at all last season, and thought it would be like having a new signing at this level - potentially an ideal situation with Luca missing the start of the season, but apart from the odd game, he didn’t stand out, even in league one. I think the best outcome for BFC is he does well for Hungary and someone fancies putting a bid in. He’s been getting a wage for a long time so we’ll probably do well to get a decent return on our investment. Just seems the more he plays for Hungary, the less he wants to play for us, which is fair enough, just wish he’d do something about it, like play well enough for a club side to deserve a move.
