I know footballers have ridiculous money and do a job we'd all love but when you think about it it's not all roses is it. Moving all the way to Portsmouth for a job, staying in hotels every couple of weeks, having to watch what you eat and getting weighed at work. Not the piece of piss we all imagine.
Good luck to the bloke he was a committed and loyal player for us I genuinely hope things work out well for him.
No not at all. Don't worry I know how privileged they are, I just mean it's not quite as simple as we all imagine it is for them.
6 championship clubs were in for him apparently. Perhaps he wasn’t as bad as many on here and in oakwell thought? I always liked him and was sad to see him go (whilst acknowledging he didn’t have a good season, but who did under Collins??).
Would have expected him to pick WBA out of those choices. He was never going to go back to Huddersfield.
Did many people actually think he was bad though? The impression I got from the vast majority was that he was an excellent wing back being made to look bad by an horrendous management decision to play him out of position
Or chance of a life time, up sticks totally to leafy Hampshire or West Sussex and never come back even when finished playing.
Probably quickest player in our squad for last few years. Pace is defo one big aspect that needs to be addressed in the transfer window, throughout the spine of the team.
Good move for him. Well run club now who are on the ball with things. Decent money, decent fan base and a nice part of the country to live around there. Can’t blame him - pleased for the lad and his young family.
I liked Williams and I think he’s been one of our better players for the last couple of years. It’s a shame we didn’t really get to see him at right wing back recently. Can only wish him well and good luck for the future.
I thought he really underperformed last season and wasn't an ideal captain. Yes he played out of position a lot of the time but no excuse for some of the errors. Wish him all the best for the future and hope he can rediscover his form to standout in the Championship
