    Only Southgate can make Foden look like a pony for 90 minutes. Against a good side we would have been battered.
    We have 2 players ranked in the top 5 in the world on the pitch and we’re holding on against a team ranked 33 just behind Peru.

    Kanes far too isolated needs 1 of the 3 forward midfielders to be nearer to him. Keep rotating which one throughout the game to keep the opposition guessing

    It wasn’t a great watch, but….

    Good win. Three points. Clean sheet. Nobody remembers group games. It’s a month-long tournament. No reason to blow your load against Serbia.

    Shaw back in on Thursday, that’ll help the balance. I’d like to see Palmer or Gordon in for Foden who was poor again. He obviously excels for City but for England he looks scared to play. Strange.

    Imho ...I'll take the 3 points.
    Just about got there but that defence scares the hell out of me (which is why I stated we would draw).
    2nd half we just went unaggressive in and out of position and their passing was much better than ours (quicker and more decisive).
    Great we still have some quality.

    I don’t really know what to make of that. Frustrating but job done. For all the pressure Serbia put on us second half they didn’t create any clear chances.

    Pickford, Walker, Stones, Guehi (barring one dodgy moment), Trippier & Rice all defended really well.

    Bellingham had a good game & was my man of the match.

    I thought Trent was our most creative player, had a sloppy moment in the first half but could easily be coming away with two assists & involvement in the build up to a couple of other good chances.

    Saka good first half but anonymous second.

    Kane wasn’t in the game too much but when he was he held the ball up pretty well second half.

    To say it was a bit of a frustrating display there’s only really Foden who I’d say had a poor game.

    No doubt the manager will get some stick as it comes with the territory with a flat performance but we could easily be talking about him making a surprising sub in Bowen & him getting an assist almost instantly.

    I still think we lack that sitting midfielder who can dictate the tempo of a game. We don’t have anyone who can do what Rodri, Kroos & Modric can.

    England have been the worst top ranking team to watch for years now.

    That victory alone came from a deflected cross that arrived perfectly for Bellingham.

    We were as ponderous as usual.

    We should bench Foden.
