As i said he is still better than any we have signed because we haven't signed any yet. It is sarcasm
Ah ...yes. Sarcasm ... I'll wait until we sign a striker that scores a ratio of 1 in 21 and see the response on here
Even if we don't we have two strikers with a better strike rate than that! He's done absolutely nothing the last few years ...
You do not get it do you. The statement was he was better than any we had signed yet which is no one not the players we already have, who everybody cursed anyway. Which means we do need some one better than our already got players who indeed might be better than fletcher but at the moment fletcher is better than any new striker we have signed because we haven't signed anybody YET
By that logic surely he is worse than any striker we have signed too? I use 'logic' in the loosest of terms, because your post has absolutely none.
Neither do you - would you be happy signing someone of this quality. Sign someone just to say look we've signed someone but he doesn't improve on what we have yeah but look we've signed someone. I await your judgement on a striker with this kind of goal ration
How do you know he wouldn't have done it for us, he did ok last time. Adam hammill didn't do much elsewhere but did at Barnsley. Paul hayes only ever really did anythimg at scunthorpe. No matter what his scoring record Fletcher is not a bad player, you know we have worse on our books at present. If we had have signed him he may or may not have scored but there are other jobs on a football field. And the point i keep trying to make, is no matter how good or poor he maybe, but at this present moment time he is better than any striker we have signed in this window because we haven't signed anybody
OK take away the name Ashley Fletcher and we sign a striker with 4 goals in 80 odd games - you'd be happy? Again why sign someone who doesn't improve the team and no better than what you already have? As for worse on our books they still have a better record than him ...
I am not saying we should or should not have signed Fletcher, what i keep trying to say to you he is better than the NOBODY we have signed upto now. If they had signed me at 74 i would be better than nobody
Whilst Blackpool didn’t do anything special last season, for me, they were a very strong and organised team. Missing a couple of players to push them on. If they play the same this season, with a couple of decent additions, they’ll be up there with us I’d say.
Never said we should have signed him - I asked how iou would react if we'd signed a striker with 4 goals in 80 odd games. Signing someone no better than what you have isn't a great signing
So what you're saying is, it's better to rush out early and sign crap players, than bide your time and get the right players?
There has been plenty of decent players out there, free agents and some coming to end of contracts we didnt have to rush, they were thete to be picked up
