We don't require a point to finish top though. It will only be enough as long as Denmark don't win by two or three.
Kane needs to take a look in the mirror - if the TV pundits had just pretended that we played well over the 90 minutes in either game they would lose all credibility - he can defend it all he wants, but he should address specific points made by the pundits if he wants to argue with them.
Saw them for the first time back in 1997 when the supported Bush in a pub in Leeds who's name escapes me (now a bank). Placebo absolutely blew them away and were back playing the Town and Country as headliners within a couple of years.
Yeah as annoying as Lineker and Shearer (Bbc) and Wright and Neville (Itv) can be... they aren't paid to be nice!. And they are calling it as it is, like all of us fans can see as well. That was indefensible against Denmark, especially as it came after an equally poor opener against Serbia. And they were only given a 'pass' there, because of the win.
Seen them a few times, great live . My only gripe is that they insist on playing running up that hill by Kate Bush. It's a great song but always bugs me when established bands with a huge back catalogue play songs by other artist's
If it's the usual suspects, internationally... Lineker - WC semi 1990, Golden Boot 86. Shearer - Euros semi 1996, Golden Boot 96. Rooney - golden generation, did jack ****. Was record goalscorer though but already overtaken by Kane with 40 less games. Neville - as above but also helped their Phil put cones out for England. Kane - 64 goals in 93 appearances, Euro 20 runner up, World Cup Semi & golden boot winner 2018. I think I'd have a go back at them.
We have not played the game against Slovenia yet. Harry Kane doesn't have to pretend anything, his record for England speaks for itself. Hopefully we demolish Slovenia and put all this cynicism in it's place. Keep The Faith!
I watched a repeat of the England v Scotland game from Euro 96. Chalk and cheese from how we play now. When I watched it live it bored me to be honest. However, compared to the dross we have to endure now. They look like the Brazil 70 team.
No, I think he's a steady captain which is what we need. He has a point but probably best to say it after he's lifted the trophy!
You can only play who you're drawn against, and plenty of top sides have come a cropper in the group stages at major tournaments against less fancied teams, England included.
They did Pennyroyal Tea one of the times I saw them, which I really enjoyed. Love their cover of Bigmouth Strikes Again as well, though never saw them do it live, even in the early days.
Well I'll be watching it. I think we've been a bit dull but I remember the draw against Switzerland in Euro 96 and the draw against Spain that they won really with what should have been a legitimate golden goal. And I remember the bore fests against Ireland, Holland and Egypt in the group stages, two draws and a 1-0 win, in Italia 90. And Cameroon Millering us for much of the game. And both those tournaments are spoken of in reverence. I think we're a good team with a good manager and I don't understand the need to try to make out everything is crap. Life is hard enough.
In general, It's not even a beef, he was asked by another journalist his thoughts on lineker calling England 5hit, media buzzards looking for something to print. On the topic as whole, to be perfectly honest I don't think Kane really said anything out of place when facing the media, if he'd refused to answer to them it would have been "England and Kane hide from criticism" all over the sports pages.
