Don’t really get Mary Wallopers from what bits I’ve seen, same with PJ Harvey. Having been the last two years was initially disappointed to miss out until I saw the line up, the music is only part of the festival. There’s a few I’d watch Jamie Webster, Lottery Winners, Nothing But Thieves, Bloc Party, The Vaccines, Keane , I’d probably watch Coldplay, Sleaford Mods, Yard Act, Paloma Faith, Bombay Bicycle Club, The K’s and Kasabian but a vast majority on the two main stages I’ve never heard of.
Exactly. They've just announced another tour and they play Leeds Paddy's weekend and the night of the annual parade. It'll be carnage.
Sadly not extending to the Avalon stage, which has a vaguely interesting line up for an old duffer like me.
I thought I was getting old but I really enjoyed Dua Lipa last.night. Maybe there's life in the old dog yet.
Was getting into them last year, then I saw them at Glastonbury ( live) and I’ve hardly bothered since they were the worst I saw last year. Quick edit might have actually been 2022
Coldplay are good but it shows the sad state of band music when they are headlining again. There is no fresh talent coming through.
Utter nonsense. The country is dripping with amazingly talented musicians. The fact that Coldplay are on again and again is an indication of the Glasto organisers’ laziness, nothing else. Easy hit.
Not bands like Coldplay. In the past 10 years the UK probably only has Dua Lipa who's new to the scene and a worldwide star. SZA tomorrow night barely anyone seems to have heard of.
Not sure about that, there seems to be a new artist/band every week who pop up and I haven't heard of them before. I think Fired is right, it's just an easy choice
I’d imagine Sam Fender will be the next new British headliner in the next year or two. I can’t think of many others likely to although I’m not as clued up on music as I was a few years back.
He did it already in 2022. Edit. Sorry I’m wrong. He was on the Pyramid stage but not headliner he played before Billie Eilish
The last indie/rock fresh brand new band worthy of headlining the main stage of our main music festival you probably have to go back to Arctic Monkeys.
Yeh' theres too many acts on to fill the weekend out' its like download' i remember when it was called the monsters of rock and you had a sterling line up over 1 day' now theres so many bands you've never heard of just as fillers' i would much prefer quality over quantity..
Another observation Cyndi Lauper needs to knock it on the head. Said the same about Blondie last year but recognise I was quite far back but that said Cat Stephens sounded good.
