I imagine that now Hourihane is here then he will find out at first hand if Styles is up to the task. Hourihane himself will not want to shirk his own responsibilities and will hopefully spot anyone who is not pulling his weight. Also a Hourihane in the dressing room, assuming he plays, will soon hone in on any trouble maker spreading b/s.
Unless someone comes in which seems unlikely he’s 2 options knuckle down impress Clarke and play his war to a move or rot in the reserves and be released next June but the penny needs to drop that the grass isn’t greener.
Just trawled through the Twitter responses on their official account. Reads like only a small minority wanted to keep him on. I think he's got a real decision to make now. He currently isn't Championship level. He could be if he knuckles down, but he isn't right now. Hopefully the people around him can get that message through.
He looked poor last season in center midfield. Hope he moves on best for everyone just can't see many takers. Looks like him and the club are desperate to part ways.
He's had two goes at the championship three if you count us time mr Styles knuckled down and realised he's lucky to be at our club.
Epitome of a lot of modern footballers. Plenty of entitlement, and let’s be honest, greed but very little of the hard work, ability or even intelligence to back it up. 90% of footballers at this level are vastly overpaid compared to their ability and weekly output in games. We have the premier league’s inflated wages to thank for that.
Can’t wait till the styles sage is over. He’s no where near as good as what he thinks he is and has little to no impact on games. There’s a reason we’re still stuck with him have a think about it. Problem is I don’t know how he’d be involved next season if everyone’s fit I really don’t think he gives us another dimension from what we already have. The sooner he’s gone the better for all involved.
If Clarke is happy for Styles to do a job for us then fine by me. We have had alot worse players recently. Great goal he scored at Northampton last season.
"Never seen an international team improve as much as when he got subbed off the other day" Harsh but true.
Styles, maybe he'll bite the bullet realise hes not as good as he believes himself to be an knuckles down an puts in a few shifs, puts himself back in the market an its a two way win.
As long as Hungary keep including him, he might think he’s he dog danglies. I fully get wanting to play international football, but not at the expense of a domestic career of any note.
Agreed, one of the best we've had in that position under Val. The problem is that he sees himself in midfield and played there for Hungary so he won't want to play wing back. Realistically he should play wherever the gaffer decides and play his socks off to get a move in the January window.
Needs to prove himself in league 1, likely one of the top earners so unless he's going to play week in week out and make a real contribution on and off the pitch then ist imperative he finds a new club. Think Oxford or a team like that will be his only route into the championship.
