That time Michael Duff shouted at Herbie Kane.. Herbie, Herbie! F--ing move you lazy C-nt Made me laugh
So did I, expecting him to rap up at somewhere like Pompey or Oxford.. Probably better wages at Hudders and doesn't have to move.
Says it all really if true. Lazy not having to move. Not backing himself to "make it" and make a difference in a higher more competitive league!
He was lazy on the pitch and looked like he'd been dragged out of the local boozer to play most weeks. Never rated him.
Decent eye for a pass when he got his head up & looked forward. Very slow player, & injury prone too. Won’t cut it above league 1. Other than that a huge waste of money with little return to show for it. His most successful period with us was when out on loan. Terrible attitude as well.
I watched a different player. Injury prone? He rarely missed a game. Just had a look & he’s played in 43 of 46 games in each of the last two seasons. I wish all our squad was that injury prone. I’ve no idea where I would find stats to back it up but the lad never stops running. He wasn’t quick but that’s not something he can help. The only reason he’s disliked is because of that sulky interview he gave. I’m certain of it.
I think it's more about him spinning around and going backwards and sideways. But pretty much all the team did that anyways. Frustrating player, cos he can ping a through ball and break a defence in 2, well, pretty much when he wants to. Which wasn't often enough IMO
Decent enough player just thought his heart wasn’t in it for us , some of his interviews showed his lack of enthusiasm for the club
He didn’t help himself with that infamous interview he gave, but I always thought he put the effort in. Also he his definitely a player that is top 6 quality in this league, so folks on hear want to careful what they wish for and maybe reserve their judgement until we see who we bring in as replacements for the ones that have gone imo.
Had a poor last couple of months but for much of the season was our best player. I still don't think he's great, but he worked hard, scored goals and played better than most. And like you said, available for almost every game so not sure where the claim he's injury prone is from. He also plays it safe too often, he's slow and is often more concerned about winning a free kick rather than the ball, which can be very frustrating, particularly when the ref is not fooled. That's why I don't think he's great, plus the way he presents himself in interviews makes him very difficult to like, but we've had a hell of a lot who are much, much worse.
Kane was OK. Very good player on his day but a bit of a flat track bully. If the team was on it he looked good. There's very few times I remember him grabbing a game by the scruff of the neck though. All in all, in a fairly lengthy stay here, he never remotely made it into my personal list of good midfielders we've had over the years.
Worse example of a player who downed tools, was dropped towards the end of the season because he was unwilling to put in a shift to effect games, bad attitude, will probably look good if he decides to start trying for Town though.
