It's safe to say it won't be a player currently contracted to another football club. Fairly sure that would be illegal. He's clearly not signed as he's wearing old training gear. The likelihood is that it's an unattached player either training or on trial with us.
Milan Mbeng (22) who is on trial this week. Free agent who last played in Belgian third tier for Zébra Élites Not clear at this point if he will sign or not, but he is too old to play for U21s so would be a signing for first team.……Centre Back
Stranger things have happened, but I'd hoped we'd stopped looking at unknown "talent" from the Continent. Unattached player whose last team play in the Belgian third tier is not really what we need, besides we have plenty of centre backs now.
Zebra Elites is the nickname for Royal Chareloi's B team. So essentially, he's been playing for the Reserve side of one of Belgium's top clubs.
The issue isn't with us signing 'unknown talent', the issue was with us exclusively signing that type of player last summer. Given Pines, Earl, MDG and now Roberts will be in and around the first team as a minimum, a cheap punt from abroad isn't that much of a risk. IF we sign this lad, I imagine he'll be dipped in the side for Pizza Motors trophy games initially to see how he gets on. If he doesn't make the grade, I presume he'll be back in Belgium next summer. Alternatively, he does well, and we've unearthed another gem. Signing MDG, Lopata, Shepherd and playing Williams at CB, with their combined total of 0 Pro games in that position at this level, was the issue last year.
Milan Mbeng trialist, doing the rounds. CH. So someone has to move out surely if true and he impresses. https://images.app.goo.gl/X3tm9xfvnv9zgHGfA
