Glad I don’t live in Barnsley anymore. Shameful. Had to move to an area that had a Tory MP, but think we have got rid of them here today.
https://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/the-real-face-of-reform-ltd.331259/page-2#post-3312942 It's not even a shock is it.
Hate to think what our foreign players think when our own fan base have voted for a party by wide margins (for both to have such a high likely hood) that's seen as racist.
How ungrateful too. I know it doesn’t change the council, but all the work that’s been put in to regenerating the town centre and they bin the Labour MP off the first chance they get. It’s my old constituency (Barnsley North) and my parents constituency still and I’m so sad for them. It’s really taken the gloss off the whole night for me.
I moved to Barnsley when I was 12, left when I was 19, I consider them my formative years, so when people ask where I'm from, I've always said Barnsley. If this comes to fruition, think I'm going to have to revert to my town of birth, Stockport. Embarrassing.
Worth mentioning that a lot of seats - including those in Barnsley - are so close that the exit poll might not be quite as accurate as it has been historically.
I live in Barnsley North ward and I sincerely hope that Reform don't get in. I'm approaching 70 and me and Mrs Snaptin both voted Labour . So ashamed if Labour don't win!!
I desperately hope this doesn't turn out to be the case. An utterly embarrassing snd shameful day for the town if so. Would be thoroughly depressed knowing I'm from the same town and support the same team as so many hateful and/or gullible people. The regeneration and identity change, for the better, that the town has gone through in recent years would be wiped out with this - back to being thought of as a town full of knuckle dragging racists.
