Exit polls ,asking people outside polling stations etc. They do tend to be correct unfortunately.

If the actually asked anybody outside a polling station in Barnsley it's quite possible they didn't and these are just assumptions based on polling in other constituencies.

The things I’m holding on to right now are that there will be an increase in postal votes this time which obviously aren’t counted in the exit polls and from what i understand they’re more likely to go Labour, along with exit polls not working as well when there’s more than two parties.

Let’s just hope.

I don’t believe they’re done in Barnsley. There’s about 130 constituencies they’re done in and the rest of the country is extrapolated from there.

 

I hope so but strong showings in the declared results for Reform suggest the exit polls probably aren't far off

The Barnsley South Reform candidate was a Tory up until 18 months ago. I’m sure the ones voting for him didn’t bother to read that info and just voted Reform due to immigration. So if it’s true that he’s been elected, what we’ve got is a bigoted Tory representing us now. Excellent

 

And the Barnsley North candidate was too bigoted even for Reform and was kicked out of the party. Just too late for him to be removed from the ballot paper.

 

He's also been found to not have paid his taxes.

He's also only turned up to half of the council meetings in the last 12 month but took the maximum allowance that he could get for being a councillor.

He is a massive advocate for free speech as long as it supports him otherwise he is known to block people on social media and belittle them without a chance to reply.

He also lectured other candidates on the importance of living in the constituency they represent - he now lives outside the Barnsley South area.

He has also made thinly veiled transphobic and racist remarks on his social media and hidden behind the guise of 'discussion'

 

In Barnsley North they appear to have elected a bloke who was reluctantly half-disowned by Farage for saying black people should get off their lazy arses and stop acting like savages.

I'm sorry but if you voted for that bloke you are a nasty fucking racist and you should get the fuck out of Barnsley. There's no plausible deniability - he's clearly a racist and if you vote for him then as far as I'm concerned you're as bad as he is. I'd swap 10 asylum seekers for each knuckle dragging, thick, racist twat who voted for him.

Then when they are accused of being thick, they take umbrage. 2 Labour MPs, under a Labour Govt, at least one of them serving as a Cabinet minister, could’ve only been a massive positive for the Town ending this Tory vindictiveness. Talk about shooting g ourselves in the foot.

 

I’ve often wondered about the exit polls. 4 of us in a group chat all live in Barnsley South & voted at 4 different places. None of us were polled. How do they work it out? I’m not saying it’s flawed though as they seem to be very accurate.
