Yeah I had to chuckle- I fell for it and I'm one who preaches patience. It reminds me of us going 1-0 down, everyone screaming Collins Out, then us winning 3-1.
Come on Marc. he was only posting what a lot would have seen anyhow. And someone else would have posted anyway. What wants stopping is the exit poll researchers for causing a lot of unnecessary grief. I personally have never seen one. And never missed an election in my life. I was sick to my stomach. But had faith in a small degree. Exit polls can be as shown in the past, dramatically wrong as to be a waste of time. I went to bed in tears almost, trying to block it out. It's made waking up all the sweeter. Well done labour, penistone. And as for Springvale red. (Pleased for you Andy) This now has to be one of the happiest days in my entire life. Labour back in. Tories annihilated.
My point was purely factual. The biggest 3 hotels in Skegness are not full of immigrants and Skegness isn't a ghost town.
To be fair mate I think Marc’s comment was tongue planted firmly in cheek..and I’m guessing Jay took it as so
There were some proper flounces on here last night…. My favourite was never going to Oakwell again after this result.
Relived! However, over 24,000 of the people of Barnsley voted reform, including for a candidate who was deemed too racist by Nigel Farrage. That's still quite an alarming number.
True enough and I held my court. But how do exit polls get it so wrong. 99% and 98% to win in favour of reform. Those has to be the biggest false predicted percentage numbers in history. Must have asked 1 voter. Or as the case may be. Only reform voters could be arsed to fill in the form.
I’ve never been asked at a polling station either. I’m guessing they pick 100 people and move on. Or maybe a prankster, or maybe they just sat in the nearest boozer at lunchtime. It was wildly wrong though.
It was 5 hotels at one point as noted in numerous news outlets. There's your Fact and also the people were that happy with thriving skeggy that they overturned one of the biggest majorities. Anyway it was just an example of news reports which have been proven right with the outcome.
Also mate. I read a few b4 I went to bed sulking fearing the worst. The one that pleases me most and I can't be arsed to look for it, which In effect said. too many owd fekkers in Barnsley. Not enough of us it seems lol.
One sobering fact is only 34% of the voters wanted Labour yet under our system a landslide win. Majority of people in the country aren't having their voice represented so I think this government are going to get a rougher ride than they think. PR is a must in some incarnation.
Terrible tbh. less than Brexit which begs the question that I think puts it in a true context. All racists voted Brexit But not all Brexit voters are racist. And most of those said no to Nigel.
There's 133 polling stations chosen at random - and they ask every 10th person who leaves. I think that's what I read yesterday somewhere. They must have asked some right clowns
Arguments for and against. PR in this election would have given us a lot more than 4 Reform MPs for example - I’m not sure that would be a good thing.
Whilst the exit polls in Barnsley were miles out. The prediction was 170 majority to labour. That has been reached (410) with 9 seats to be announced. So pretty much spot on.
When the Barnsley results were announced I actually fist pumped I was so pleased these racists don't represent me.
Just woken up and plugged in to read a thread which lays out time after time what contempt the noisy majority on here are quite prepared to hold the residents of Barnsley. The vagaries of predictions from an exit poll don't change that. Who you are is there - there for all to read. You should be ashamed and embarrassed. It's this thread that has taken the shine off what will be a change for the better.
