It’s not their goal is it though. They do have a responsibility to tell the Country how bad it really is and why. Has he appointed the minister to look into the Covid ‘ expenditure’ yet?I hope so because it’s been often mentioned about the ‘wasted’ billions. Why you think they won’t ’enact change’ and only ‘celebrate election victories’ is baffling to say the least. We’ve all been crying out for honesty and transparency in govt, haven’t we, then if this means calling out the previous Govt’s ‘ misdemeanours’ then so be it.
Just watched Keirs first presser. Thought he was outstanding. Full of positive intent, purposeful and brutally honest. He is going to be a blessing after the years of negligence and downright criminality we've had to suffer for the last 14 years. At last we have a man of principle in charge and a cabinet of people who actually care. Already they've taken our politics out of the gutter and raised things to a whole new level UTR!
Do right by the majority of people (the working class) and they should breeze it anyway. Hopefully people will eventually wake up. Education is key. If they're slow learners we can't just give up on 'em. Keep trying & trying and not revert to just slagging them off. Even if they are nobs
If as you say you are a small business owner, I would be trying my upmost to get the UK back into Europe.
I agree with the EU side - and I voted to remain and that is what it is and remains to be seen whether it gets reversed. we don’t rely on overseas commerce for any aspect of our business but I know plenty that do. my concern is that the people that can afford the best of the best tax advice will just trade from overseas and move to more favourable tax conditions (potentially - dependent on what transpires). This leaves a lot of small businesses who do okay with a big fat ‘x’ on their back. the vote system is how it is but the reality is KS got a similar amount of votes to Jeremy Corbyn yet had a landslide victory - for me it’s not some sort of polling masterstroke , it’s more by default that firstly there were no other candidates to challenge and secondly folk wanted change (which I fully understand) . The conservatives should really have put up what people would see as a more credible candidate in the months leading up to the election and I think a closer result would have been the outcome. As it stands 2/3 of the voters didn’t want KS as PM (these stats I’m sure could be quoted on other elections aswell, and I think is more of a question mark over our voting system) I hope he makes a fist of it and my concerns aren’t founded. But we will wait and see how he hits businesses and pensions etc - one thing that is dangerous is that you should never stifle ambition and aspiration , otherwise you are on the road to communism and he has to get the balance right
The nearest we’ve been to ‘ Commies’ is Boris Johnson and his Tories ‘friendship’ with the Russian Oligarchs and such
You obviously don't have a clue what a Communist is or what Communism is, what a ridiculous statement & a foolish one at that.
Hope so. On a serious note. The far left of the party won't be either. Centre left is as far as they dare go. Or they'll not last a term. Bit of renationalisation here and there hopefully.
If that is the position Labour take in the term of office then they will lose my vote in the next election. Just actually do something rather than looking backwards for blame.
One of the things labour really has to do is get the press on side. They got Foot and Corbyn vilified, even by labour supporters and they got Blair elected.
