So a few weeks ago I reported this comment on Facebook: (apologies for the language) "Fkin gay ******* benders. What they forget is us straight people have to watch fkn queer **** everyday on tv becose those poofs complain. Fkn batty boy *** (a word for cigarettes) cnts" Response from Facebook"we have reviewed your complaint and found that the comment doesn't go against our community standards" I appealed that and requested a review and got the same response. Doesn't go against their standards? It should frankly have resulted in a lifetime ban and an automated report to the police.
Weird init. Facebook own Instagram too I believe, and I regularly report comments on there, much more mild in context (but often homophobic), and they regularly take those down.
Funny you should mention that Archey. It's my Son's 20th tomorrow and In my Facebook memories is some photos of him on his 8th birthday which are from my Instagram page so has the link. I've shared the post tagging my wife and son in and it's just been removed for trying to get likes. Absolutely crackers the double standards these companies have
These companies don’t have any real values, their decisions are purely based on the demographics of their users. Facebook is more likely to be older people who will be more upset if they remove stuff like the OP. Instagram more likely to be younger people who are more likely to be upset if they leave it up. It’s just about maximising the amount of traffic they get.
I’m only on FB and the amount of ads is now getting to the point I’m totally pissed off with the place. TBH its real value to me is for keeping in touch with friends many miles away but even that reason is wearing a bit thin. At least I have BBS to keep in touch with my Barnsley friends.
