Why the nastiness about one of our own players. Whatever we get for him when he goes will be more than we paid for him. Whilst you are entitled to your opinion it doesn't warrant your disparaging comment. As the only current EFL 2 player playing international football at the highest level there are those with a different opinion and arguably more valid than yours.

I agree entirely with you, apart from any certainty that we'd get more than we paid for him. I believe that was £600k. Not a lot these days, but there's no guarantee that we'd get more than that. In common with a number of other people, I would be happy for him to stay and play left wing-back.

Not sure where you've seen that, mate? I've seen 50k rising up to 200k if targets hit. Obviously that was years ago too.

 

For me, it would be great if he came back and gave an interview saying he wanted to be at Barnsley and give everything for the club....... Unlikely I know.

 

I agree. My fear if he stays though is that he'll get dogs abuse from some of our fans. I don't understand why but some seem to enjoy abusing individuals more than supporting the team.

 

As a LWB in a high press system yeah I like him and he's good.

His issue is he doesn't like playing LWB, and he doesn't like being here and makes it absolutely obvious. Therefore I do not want someone like that playing for my team ahead of someone who wants to be here and play for the fans

I think people are just fed up of the same stories about interest in him every transfer window as if he’s some kind of world beater when he wasn’t even good enough to make our first eleven when everyone was fit & available last season.

He’s had one good season about 4 years ago.

Look what Morris, Mowatt, Anderson, Helik, Brittain, Collins, Chaplin etc have done since then.

I think like most fans I’d be happy for him to go for a pretty low fee just to get rid of his wages & so we can all move on.

 

COVID season under Val and that’s it. He’s done nowt since, sooner he’s gone the better for me. We need players who wanna play for the shirt and no ones bigger than the club. Something he clearly thinks he is.

 

Good post. Echoes my views. I think he's very over rated, a move would be good all round. Not abuse I wish him well if he stays or goes just a opinion. Another loan move is no good for anyone.
