Surely Sunak has to sack her, doesn't he? I know he's only interim leader now, but he's going to look worse then ever if he stands up at PMQ's on the 24th and it is known a member of his shadow cabinet has been openly critical of him in their meetings. She has also launched a startling attack on Braverman (I know, I know!) and called Sunak's closest aide (ex?) a buffoon. Whilst her education and experience mark her down as smart she appears to have a total absence of emotional intelligence. I would imagine she has already shot her own fox in terms of any leadership aspirations. Braverman also seems to have already ruffled too many feathers. And I don't see the party going for the gobshyte from the provisional wing (his elf, Tice has ruled it out anyway!) It seems to me the Tories may end up with a 'Jim Hacker' type leader. Step forward James Cleverley!
I think she wants to be sacked- Logic being that the catastrophic performance of the Tories was nothing to do with her and she is distancing herself from Sunak. Its ****** of course and no sane person would fall for it, however the remaining Tory membership..... Only Tory in the running that has a chance of stabilising things is Tugendhat but he has no chance of being elected as he isnt fascist enough
Standard fayre. They’re now jostling for leadership, and one way to do that is distance yourself from the failure. I’m happy to watch them continue to tear themselves apart. Kemi, Cruella, JRM, Houchen et al have all been at it. all utterly vile humans.
I suspect Braverman will defect to Reform as shes lost any semblance of sentient capability. Sunak hasn't really got power to sack anyone given his seismic defeat and though Badenoch could literally pick a fight with her reflection, if she gets to the members vote... She'll be a shoo in. It seems that there is a slight majority of more centre leaning tories than far right populists in whats left, but are they slick and ruthless enough to ensure the two candidates that run off to the member vote aren't lunatics? I have my doubts. I have a sneaky feeling their next leader could be someone like the truly inept Robert Jenrick. Tugendhat doesn't have the support, Cleverly is too closely linked to the calamity govt. If he did get it, I suspect they'd be having another contest within 2 years. Especially as it now only needs 18 letters to trigger a vote of no confidence.
The choice of their next potential leader is appalling. There needs to be a decent opposition, not The Nazi-lite Party.
Mordaunt is out of the race, as is Truss. Can't see either of them getting elevated to the Lords anytime soon. I think a mud wrestling match between Kemi Badenoch & Cruella Braverman in a cess pit would work.
Absolute disgrace that this woman is getting £100,000 a year for life from the taxpayer for 49 days in office. I only get £10,000 a year for a whole life's work.
I could not agree more. How the mad Tory membership put her forward is enough. It's why they are ****** now. Lots of folk who are working people, who don't share my politics either abstained, voted Reform, Lib Dem & even a few voted Labour. I have to confess that I do fancy her, but bloody hell. I need to not go there... political meltdown.
Andrew Neil has recently said that the reason the Tories lost was because they were too left wing. I’d like expect a massive lurch even further right. They are so irrefutably dim that they still don’t recognise themselves as the most right government in British history and this was the very reason they got demolished in the GE. The complete **** wombles.
I can only assume hes on about immigration, allowing same sex marriage and perhaps not immediately clamping down on them massive gays... Stuff isn't black and white. Its so much more complex. I used to like Alex Neil years ago but pfft. Tarring all immigrants the same, all LGBT are groomers etc. Its pathetic and divisive and is only doing more to tear the country apart. Shame on him and his ilk.
