    I would think so - he's bound to have been consulted.

    If Longelo was mediocre surely Roberts would have imparted this to the Boss, and there'd be no deal.

    17 matches and 4 bookings suggests a bit of work to be done with this lad especially if they are trying to offload him.

    If it's a free transfer then Ok, any money changing hands would be slightly questionable.

    4 bookings in 17 games isn’t actually that outrageous in this day and age.

    I believe he’s only 1 year into a 3 year contract. Wonder if it’s a straight swap with Styles? We’re certainly not getting him for nowt.

    I do think this is a bit of a statement signing if it happens. Our summer recruitment looks excellent so far in my humble opinion.

    Sounds like a decent signing. 23 yrs old and has played 40 championship games over the last 2 seasons.

    And he will be up against L1 players not championship.. Robbo and this lad should improve our defence from last season. I liked Cadden when going forward but his defending was suspect.

    The statement implies the opposite, Barnsley have agreed a fee. Suggests if there's any money to change hands it will be from us to them..

    Only position where we didn't have somebody coming through the ranks. In a perfect world Styles would complete the left side and play to his ability. Sadly not going to happen. Striker needed and although we're going to be using returning loans and development players it's starting to come together.

    Lots of people still slagging off the club and owners, but personally I think we've done very well so far. Centre mid, centre half, goalkeeper and now hopefully a left wing back. They were the most vital positions we needed and we've completed/almost hopefully all of them so far. A decent striker in and then fill in some depth and I'll be happy.

    Not necessarily so. Agreeing a fee can work both ways. If Styles doesn't go to Brum you are right. And we take him regardless. But part exchange imo would be in our favour I would imagine if he does.
    I'm guessing Styles has not agreed to a move at the mo. And neither has the Brum player. To my knowledge.
    Given Styles stats and experience plus international selection. I can't see where we'd lose out financially. If both agreed to move.
    Styles will still I assume be hoping a Championship club comes in for him. Or it could be pointless on the international front. Brum are not guaranteed promotion regardless of spending big amounts. Ipswich failed for 3yrs prior.

    Just with it saying Barnsley have agreed a fee to Birmingham not Birmingham have agreed a fee to Barnsley suggests to me any money changing hands will be from us them.. you maybe right we don't know, knowing us we may never know but its how it reads to me. A deal is agreed that we are happy with in a position we need covering.. all good

    We havent agreed owt over Styles as far as I'm aware. We may think they've not offered enough. But it's all conjecture at the mo. As both players have to agree to move regardless. Styles may have spoken to Clarke as to where he would see him fitting in. Imo his best position is still midfield, but he needs to get shut of the sulks. And that's where Hungary play him. So would rather do that that than fanny abart at LWB.

    Sounds a bit Clarke Oduor-esque this signing, hopefully the drop into Div 1 will benefit him. I'm happy with the transfers in so far.
