I just don't believe his story that his sudden transition from a nearly man to a 5 set monster with inexhaustible energy reserves was due to a gluten allergy that was diagnosed when a bloke held a piece of bread against his stomach and tested how strongly he could raise his arms. That's seriously his explanation. If you think that's more credible than him taking industrial amounts of EPO then I have a bridge to sell to you.
Back playing 20 days after knee surgery at his age. The man's incredible. Has the most spirit in the game.
Never seen the BBC interview in full, just the 30 mins edit broadcast February 2022. If he did say it and it’s what he believes it’s entirely up to him. Lots of folk have beliefs that lots of others don’t but that is their choice. Doesn’t mean they’re massive ****
It's not so much that it's what he believes, because I don't think he believes it. It's that it's his explanation for a dramatic increase in form and stamina. It's clearly ********, so what's the real explanation...? It's just him trying to establish some alternative narrative for the obvious real explanation. The same way the Rock claims to eat 10,000 calories or whatever to obscure the fact that it's actually just mountains of steroids. Djokovic also comes across like a first class ****** in his other behaviour - Covid, his interviews (example the other day after he beat Rune)
