Disgraceful that there was only four minutes in the first place and he should have let play go on for at least another 2 or3 minutes with the way things played out. Might have been irrelevant any way but he sold us short there.
Spain, best team by some distance. Thoroughly deserved. Can’t complain about England’s tactics. Hoping for a break or even penalties. If they’d have ‘gone for it’ that Spain team would have put 6 on England. Credit to JS - thought he was immense.
Give Spain 70% possession and ultimately and inevitably go a goal down. Start to play on the front foot, equalise by breaking fast on them. Revert to "compact" shape and minimal possession and concede. Thanks Gareth.
I'm pretty much watching it as a neutral and called it out! What happened to the rules they had at the world cup?
England has won something and that was with huge home advantage. Southgate is far from perfect but the abuse he gets is ridiculous.[/QUOTE] The personal abuse is bang out of order, however I don't think it's wrong to say he won't win anything. Nice guy, yes, he's done pretty well but sadly he's not a winner. Far too conservative at times rather than allowing this team to get on the front foot.
Nothing to do with added time, it's about letting gifted players play, another 2 years of this football dinosaur and another 2 years of heartache, Spain are champions because they play the game brilliantly, we play the game without imagination and guile and where does the buck stop? England have been given a golden ticket to the final, no- one can deny that, playing terrible football under a man that has all the imagination ofa wardrobe, this is exactly what we deserve.
I think Spain wanted it more tbh. Nice for Kane to be included tonight but he isn’t 100% and really shouldn’t have played. When he was subbed England looked and played with more drive. Shame it came to naught.
Well done to Spain. Thoroughly deserved it. We were abysmal baring some good defending and a moment of quality for the goal. The 2nd goal for Spain was always coming but yet again we have a manager who stands by and lets it happen. More changes were needed as well as the ones that were made but Southgate proved again his inability to change players or formation. Southgate is clearly a great man manager and he’s changed the England team for the better. Unfortunately, he’s tactically inept and at the top end against the best teams he gets found out each time.
I think for how much Spain got praised and England got slagged off during the whole tournament they wasn't much between the two teams if we go on results.
